Here we are again, I will do my best to do more, more frequently! TODAY we are featuring my #bookbestie and the girl who has been with me from day one. And I mean day one, she was my first interaction and person I spoke with, also helped me out a lot from the start! Love you Ames! E N J O Y

Name: Amy

About yourself:
I’m 29. I was born in Oregon. I have an older sister and brother, I am the baby of my family. I have a bachelor’s degree in Criminology/Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology and an emphasis in forensics. When I’m not reading or working I enjoy baking.

Logo name? The Little Bookworm

Logo picture, if you have to available? My gorgeous logo was created for me by my book bestie <3

How/Why did you come up with it? Honestly, I don’t even remember how I came up with it. I think it was just the first thing that popped into my head and I ran with it.

When did you start Bookstagramming? What was the first thing you did? I started the middle of 2018.  I started with just posting anything book related from meme’s, to just random images of books.

Why did you start what you started? Influence? I was following a few authors on my personal Instagram account and just thought it would be nice to have something purely book related to share my love of books and connect with other readers.

Did you have any help at the beginning or winged it? I had no help at the beginning. I just started following other bookstagram accounts and saw what they were doing and just find of found my own thing. It was trial and error for me. Of course, I met some AMAZING people along the way.

What is your favorite part you would say and why? The people! The romance book community is AMAZING. Everyone is so friendly, welcoming and supportive. I love it!

What platforms do you use (for things like posts on any fo the social media’s? Or at least your favorite ones? I don’t use any. I pretty much just post on Instagram and it is linked to my blog facebook page, but I don’t use any third party platforms for social media posts. It might make my life easier if I did. haha

What social media’s are you on? And do you have a favorite? Instagram, Facebook, Twitter. I would say Instagram is my favorite to use and the one that I use the most.

Do you have any tips and tricks about blogging? Just be consistent with posting, that’s where I struggled and just get your blog link and blog name out there by posting about it everywhere.

Have you had any bad/negative experiences on Bookstagram?  I haven’t, well, other than a few creeps sliding into my DM’s but when it comes to the bookstagram community I have not.

What have you learned from blogging on a public platform like? I don’t know if I have truly learned anything as of yet. I’m still trying to figure it out myself. I know when I first created my blog and started I wasn’t consistent with posting but I have gotten much better at it over time.

Do you have any goals that you haven’t yet been able to get to, concerning your account? None that come into my mind. I would love to be able to spend more time on it, but unfortunately, it is difficult with working a full time job.

What are some highlights or special moments that have happened, concerning your book blogging career? Meeting my book bestie is one! She’s been there from almost the beginning and honestly has been so helpful throughout this wild ride. Also, having some of your favorite authors interact with you is amazing and I will never stop freaking out when they follow me back or being able to talk to them about their books. It is such an amazing feeling.

Do you think Bookstagram is an effective platform to express your opinion on books?  I do! Unless you have a lot to say since you are limited on space, but it is pretty easy to direct other people to your blog, goodreads or wherever else you may post a review.

What do you use camera vise when taking book photography? I use my Iphone 8 plus for my pictures, so nothing fancy!

Do you use your own props? Is there a fun or MAGICAL way you set it all up? (loc, props…) I use my own props. I usually just take pictures around my apartment, pretty much where I can find the best natural lighting.

Do you have advice for new bookstagrammers on how to start, be, and do? Just be yourself! Don’t worry about what other people are doing, how their pictures look, how many followers they have. Just do what makes you happy, post what you enjoy and just interact with your followers. You will find something that works for you and that’s what truly matters. No one is going to judge you.

Tell us, do you know the exact amount of paperback you own? How about ebooks? (I suggest not to count because I did & I regretted it) Because you said not to count I will….just kidding, I don’t have that amount of time! Paperbacks I have probably 200 ish and growing. Moving half away across the country I got ride of a ton of stuff and so I’m building up my collection again. Ebooks I have about 1500 currently on my kindle, most of those are unread but eventually I’ll read them all.

Do you prefer paper or kindle? Kindle, mostly because I have all my ARCS on mine, but nothing beats holding a paperback in your hand.

Do you know your first paperback/ebook? I have no idea on my first paperback, but the first ebook I purchased myself was The Davinci Code by Dan Brown.

Do you remember your very first read? No idea, but the very first book series I remember reading is The Shadow Children series by Margaret Peterson Haddix.

What is it that draws you to a book? (picture, blurb, author..or all?) Author and cover. I like to go into books without reading blurbs 98% of the time because I love the surprise. Though, if the author is new to me I will check out the blurb.

Do you have a favorite genre you read? And which one? Romance, obviously. But I also enjoy true crime. I feel like that is such an odd combination but I am little weird.

What is your favorite part about a story? (the beginning get to know each other, the sexy scenes, the middle right before the peak…) I think we all love the sexy scenes, but besides that I always love the beginning of books. Its where I get hooked to the story and fall in love with the characters as they are getting to know each other.

Now, the real important question -> What is your favorite book & why! THIS IS THE WORST QUESTION EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have so many favorites and don’t even know how to answer this question. I feel like I need to line up all my favorites, close my eyes and just pick one of them. Okay, this this was a tough choice for me but if I just picked a random one from my pile of favorites and it is Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren. I have read this one many times and I never get tired of Bennett and Chloe. To this day they will always be one of my favorite book couples and Bennett will always be one of my top book boyfriends.

Do you have any magical words for everyone out there?! Just be yourself, have fun, do whatever you want to do!

The Guide To Romance Novels -> This will forever be my favorite photo Amy has taken. This is the level I want to be at, at her age! #doingitright
