Blurb

With a hit song sitting at number one on the country music charts, Gavin McNeer thought he finally had everything he ever wanted.
All it takes is one look from the mesmerizing woman sitting in the front row at one of his shows and a brief encounter to make him realize just what he’s been missing. Even though he’s been burnt in the past, Gavin puts his inhibitions aside and his heart on the line to earn the trust of the woman who could be his everything.

Working in an industry where relationships start and end in the blink of an eye, Alyson Dawson has made it her mission not to get mixed up with musicians, no matter how good-looking they are. Keeping her focus on her blossoming career and clients, Aly doesn’t even have time to date much less fall in love. That is until she meets Gavin, a man who changes everything with one smoldering look.

Just when these two begin to settle into their new relationship, Aly is asked to do something that may require her to choose between the career she’s building and the man she’s falling in love with. To make things worse, Gavin’s ex decides to add a touch of drama to an already delicate situation.

Will their love survive, or become just another sad love song?

RELEASE BLITZ – Fake You by MV Ellis

Title: Fake You
Series: Boys of Trinity Hall #2
Author: MV Ellis
Genre: Bully Romance
Release Date: January 31, 2020

Blurb

Drew
I hate the lies you tell.
For as long as I can remember, everything in my world has been fake. The happy nuclear family. The loving parents. The close father-son relationship. The respectable family business. All lies. I’ve had it with the pretense and the show, but I’m been trapped on a dizzying merry-go-round of deception, and I can’t get off.

So when she’s thrown unexpectedly into my path, and I discover she’s just another fake, I need to make her pay. Little do I know, the deceit runs deeper than I imagined, and nothing is as it seems.

Kik
I tell the lies I hate.
I hate the lies and the pretense, but if I ‘m going to achieve what I want in life, they’re a necessary evil. Truth is, I’ve mostly made peace with the idea. What I’m doing is a means to an end, and the end definitely justifies the means. Besides, it’s not forever—nothing ever is.

Everybody has to do what they have to do, right? I can live with that. Kinda. Sorta. Maybe. At least I can until he comes bursting into my life, and is determined to tear down everything I’ve worked so hard to build.

Trailer

Excerpt

When Drew emerged from the shower my breath hitched at the sight of him. Even beaten, battered and bruised, he was beautiful. His hair was still wet, slicked back away from his face, revealing the deep gash above his eyebrow in all its glory. He was going to have a scar there whether he had stitches or not, but I figured it would be worse if he let it heal without getting it seen to. Stupidly, I couldn’t help but think that the scar would probably suit him.
The fact was, the whole beat-up vibe was really doing it for me. Not only that, but it totally suited what I knew of his personality. For someone with a mean, controlling streak as wide as his, the beefcake, preppy look he normally rocked was kind of false advertising. The world should probably be forewarned that below the cool, calm and buttoned-down exterior, a wild animal lurked just below the surface.
Case in point, if the sorry state of his knuckles—bloodied and bloated—was anything to go by, however badly off he was, the other person went away looking at least as bad, if not worse. They definitely weren’t defensive wounds.
I tried not look below the waistband of his gray sweats as he headed toward me, but it was like trying not to lick my lips while eating a sugar donut—the more I told myself not to, the more I was compelled to do exactly that. Not wanting to overtly leer at him, I quickly skirted past the obvious, and brought my eyeline down to his bare feet as he crossed the room. Big mistake. Big. Huge.
There was something so intimate about him padding about like that, it had me freaked me out. What the fuck was I doing cozying up and playing nursemaid to a guy I hated for twenty-three and a half hours a day, but who knew exactly how to make me love him for the other thirty minutes?

Excerpt

Every three-point-five seconds my thoughts drift to Maisie and the contract I delivered two days ago. I haven’t heard a response, and why should I? We never exchanged numbers. She’s had no way to reach me while I was out. We’re nothing but colleagues with a history. But that doesn’t stop me from missing her, wanting her. It all pisses me off. I have work to do and life to deal with. I knew I didn’t have time for a complication, but I can’t stop thinking about her sweet face and gorgeous ass.

I force myself to focus on the Spears case and the latest injunction Marjorie Blume has filed. She’s muddying up the waters by leaking reports of MoMo’s lengthy conviction record. What he thought was past tense is front and center. It’s my job to retrain the focus on Blume versus freedom of speech, and not his penchant for cars that don’t belong to him.

I drill into the details. Each hour spent living through Blume’s history has my temper rise by ten degrees. At the end of the day, I’m hot. She’s not a saint, and it sticks in my craw she’s made a living making people believe she is.

Focusing on Wentworth for days and Blume for what feels like ages has my blood pressure off the charts. Life is full of complications and I’m in a punishing mood because of them.

“Mr. Kavanagh,” Lisa says from the door. “It’s seven and I’m heading out. Do you need anything before I go?”

“I do—” Ms. Walker arrives behind her with the devil in her eye and a fairly well-hidden smirk. She peeks around my secretary to stare me down with a secret only the two of us share. “I do not,” I amend.

“I brought the research you requested, sir.” Maisie holds out an envelope—a familiar one, stamped confidential.

My gaze jerks from the document to her mouth: plump lips brightened with peach gloss. Christ. My chest aches. Goddamn heart. I smooth it under the pretense my tie is out of line.

“Enjoy your weekend, Lisa. I’ll finish with Ms. Walker and close up,” I say while my gaze remains trained on Maisie.

I wave her in as Lisa escapes before eight on a Friday night. As the automatic lock latches on the door, we stand and stare with silence swirling around us like the promise of what’s to come. Evening sun warms my office, but Maisie’s nipples pebble into distinct points. They draw my attention to the ripe lushness of her breasts pressed together in a skintight button-up and I can’t think of anything but her naked flesh. Because I’ve seen it. I’ve watched her writhe in ecstasy, squeezing the life from my dick.

In an instant, my mind retreats from the memory and drills into sharp focus. There’s no reason why she’s over there and I’m here and we aren’t touching. “Did you read it?” I ask.

Maisie nods. “I did. And I signed it too.”

After this shit with Wentworth, it’s important that we’re on the same page, that she’s honest with me about her feelings. She must give permission. Say it out loud and reassure me I’m not the only one suffering. “Tell me, Ms. Walker. What do you want from me?” My voice is low and jagged from need. Something my body knows all too well as it stiffens at the mere sight of her.

“I want you to f*ck me like your dirty little secret, Mr. Kavanagh.” She breathes out my name as if it’s a wish, a fucking plea for my cock to meet the back of her throat.

Lord, have mercy. Who am I to deny her? If she wishes to know the type of justice I deliver, then so be it. “Come forward for your sentence, peach.”

Everything changed the night my dad died.

The night I met Saint, Galen, Caz, and Theo.

Cover Reveal: THE HOOKUP EQUATION by Roxie Noir

THUE - CR banner

Teach me everything.

The Hookup Equation, all-new hilarious standalone romantic comedy from Roxie Noir, is coming February 26th, and we have the dreamy cover!

The Hookup Equation Final

My whole life, I’ve been a good girl. I follow rules like nobody’s business. I obey guidelines like I was born to it. Show me a line, and I’ll toe it.

I’m even a twenty-two-year-old virgin. Good is my middle name.

And then, I break one tiny little rule. Miniscule. Inconsequential.

Next thing I know, I’m trapped with an incredibly handsome stranger. He’s got eyes like cut emeralds, biceps that makes my head spin, and a smile that has me rethinking all my life choices.

We escape a bar bathroom together. We go on an impromptu date. We share the hottest kiss I’ve ever had, one that leaves me panting for more. We promise to see each other again.

Turns out, we see each other the next morning.

In my calculus class.

Which he’s teaching.

My handsome, sexy date is Professor Loveless, and we’ll be seeing each other plenty. Every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday all semester.

There’s no choice but to call it off. We both have too much at stake: I could lose my scholarship, and he could lose his entire career.

But I can’t call off the way I feel.

I can’t call off the way he looks when he rolls up his sleeves and explains imaginary numbers.

I can’t call off the heated glances, or the way our hands touch when I hand in my homework, or the memory of his body pressing against mine that night.

I’m a virgin.

He’s my professor.

And if we give in, it could cost us both everything.

But I’m so tired of being a good girl.

BOOKSTAGRAM

Logo name? @amberreadsromance

How/Why did you come up with it? I chose the name amberreadsromance just because I found it to be catchy which it still is. I started it because I saw other romance bloggers posting reviews, cover reveals and title releases and I just wanted something else to do. I also thought I’d find great recommendations if I had my own account.

When did you start Bookstagramming? What was the first thing you did? I opened my IG blogging account on May 31, 2019 right after I finished reading Ilsa Madden-Mills’ book the Boyfriend Bargain which is amazing BTW! It’s one of my absolute favorites.

Did you have any help at the beginning or winged it?  Straight winged it. ☺

What is your favorite part you would say and why? I love finding/discovering new authors to support and finding different romance troupes.

What platforms do you use? (for things like posts on any of the social media’s? Or at least your favorite ones? That means APP’S & SO FORTH) At the moment, I only use PicsArt if I want to post photos and get the border right. I know there are many other apps and such out there so I can’t wait to see what others are using!

What social media’s are you on? And do you have a favorite? Instagram only from a book blogger perspective.

Do you have any tips and tricks about blogging? (if you’re a blogger) I’m still learning the tricks and tips for bloggers so I’d say it’s all a learning experience and just ask questions if you really want to know something. This community has been awesome and I’ve never encountered a negative interaction with someone.

Have you had any bad/negative experiences on Bookstagram?  Not yet! Hoep it stays that way too.

What have you learned from blogging on a public platform like? It’s super fun. I love being an ARC reader for some of my favorite authors! To be able to read a book before the rest of the population is awesome and I’m truly grateful for it. On the other end, it can be stressful at times as I feel like you have to post something at least once a day so if I don’t, that stresses me out a bit lol. I’m probably overthinking it though. It can also be time consuming especially when juggling your real-life obligations LOL. For example, I’m going to school now and at times I know I should be studying but I get sucked into a book that I want or need to finish, so it’s a matter of finding that balance.

Do you have any goals that you haven’t yet been able to get to, concerning your account? Not yet.

What are some highlights or special moments that have happened, concerning your book blogging career? Just seeing some of my favorite authors “like” my posts or even follow me (GAH! ☺). Also, when they quote parts of my review(s) in their editorial reviews! It’s so awesome. It’s like, “Look ma, I made it!” lol. I’m hoping that I’ll make some close friends out of this in the end too.

Do you think Bookstagram is an effective platform to express your opinion on books? I think so as long as people take the time to read about them and not just scroll through.

What do you use camera vise when taking book photography? (if you do photography) N/A

Do you use your own props? Is there a fun or MAGICAL way you set it all up? (loc, props…) N/A

LET’S TALK ABOUT BOOKS!

Tell us, do you know the exact amount of paperback you own? How about ebooks? (I suggest not to count because I did & I regretted it) I actually don’t have many paperback books. Mine are all ebooks because I like to be able to go to my kindle and pick up where I may have left off. I do want to start purchasing more books this year though-it’s one of my blogger goals!

Do you prefer paper or kindle? Kindle.

Do you know your first paperback/ebook? Hopeless – Colleen Hoover (ebook) and I won a copy of Dirty Letters by Vi Keeland and Penelope Ward last November so it’s my first paperback to start my collection.

Do you remember your very first read? Nope. I have a mom brain so I barely remember what I did last week. ☺

What is your current read? 3 at the moment:

What is your least favorite read? Hmmm…I can’t say I really have one at the moment.

How many books have you read so far this year? My goal this year is to read 100 books.

What book are you anticipating most in 2020? Only one?? That’s impossible- I have a lot!

What is it that draws you to a book? (picture, blurb, author..or all?) Picture, Blurb, the fact that they are my favorite author, I’ll support them no matter what.

Do you have a favorite genre you read? And why? Contemporary romance is my favorite just because it’s something I can relate to and it’s fresh. I enjoy almost all the different romance troupes as well. I cannot get into historical romance for some reason and I almost wish I could. Maybe I just need to find a good one to start out with.

What is your favorite part about a story? (the beginning get to know each other, the sexy scenes, the middle right before the peak…) Well the sexy scenes for one is at the top of the list lol but I do enjoy seeing how the story unfolds, how the couple meets because that’s romance in a nut shell. You follow the relationship from beginning to the end (hopefully it’s a HEA) and learn things about the characters. Some books really touch you, as they are so realistic and make you feel that deep connection. That’s when you know you have found a gem!

Now, the real important question -> What is your favorite book & why! One of my favorite books is Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan. This is the book that started it all for me. It is a book about two people are who broken and come together to work through their issues. They are tested and tempted by anything and everyone. You get romance, chemistry, humor, heartache, and pure passion! If someone were to ask me for a recommendation for their first romance book, I’d suggest this one first.

Do you have any magical words for everyone out there?! Life is too short, so have fun and live in the moment!

SPOTLIGHT 2020! Featuring: Gretchen!

WELCOME

to my SPOTLIGHT 2020! New version of my BOOKSTAGRAMMER SPOTLIGHT I featured in 2019. I decided to bring it back and feature some more amazing people who run in this crazy world of ROMANCE! Please enjoy & show some love to:

PERSONAL

Name: Gretchen

About:  I grew up in a small town in Iowa with my parents and two younger brothers.  After high school I had one of my favorite jobs to date; working for a small airline.  It was loads of fun, I traveled anywhere and everywhere for free and met some really great people. At the age of 20 I met my now husband on one of those trips and at 21 moved to Southern California with my best friend.  I’ve been married almost 15 years to my wonderful guy and am still enjoying all that is SoCal (and my bestie is married to his friend and lives just a few miles from us!). We have two beautiful children; Eleanor and Grayson.  My love of reading started at a young age. My Oma and Mom were always reading and had full bookshelves I was always going through. I remember finding VC Andrews on Oma’s shelves and being sucked in. My true love of romance started when I found Sandra Brown and Suzanne Brockmann and I devoured everything our library had to offer!

BOOKSTAGRAM

Logo name? @gretareadsromance

How/Why did you come up with it? My name doesn’t shorten well but Greta is one used most often and I read romance.  Not a lot of brain power went into the name just kept it easy.

When did you start Bookstagramming? What was the first thing you did? I owe my bookstagram to Meghan March.  I was chosen as an ARC reader and thought what the hell, let’s give this a try!  That was in July 2019. I got into a monthly photo challenge and it helped to introduce me to others and get started.  I then found PR firms and hope to continue on!

Did you have any help at the beginning or winged it? Just winged it!

What is your favorite part you would say and why? I love all parts of it!  I have absolutely no wish to be a writer but as a reader when I get to help promote I feel like part of the process.  It’s an honor to be given a book before it releases and anything I can do to share how I feel about it is something I enjoy.

What platforms do you use? (for things like posts on any of the social media’s? Or at least your favorite ones? That means APP’S & SO FORTH)  I mainly use Instagram however do have a blog that I post on as well.  My reviews are always posted to Goodreads, Amazon and Bookbub.

What social media’s are you on? And do you have a favorite? Instagram would be my favorite.  I do have a personal facebook but do not use it often.

What have you learned from blogging on a public platform like? Only the advice I was given: do what feels best to you and have fun with it!

Do you have any tips and tricks about blogging? (if you’re a blogger) Not so far.  I’ve reached out to a few people with questions and everyone is very helpful (especially you Emina!).

Have you had any bad/negative experiences on Bookstagram?

Do you have any goals that you haven’t yet been able to get to, concerning your account?

What are some highlights or special moments that have happened, concerning your book blogging career? My biggest highlight is receiving the ARC books, especially ones given by the authors themselves.  Makes a girl feel special!

Do you think Bookstagram is an effective platform to express your opinion on books? Yes!  I have found so many new to me authors and book deals. It is an amazing place!

What do you use camera vise when taking book photography? (if you do photography) Just my phone.

Do you use your own props? Is there a fun or MAGICAL way you set it all up? (loc, props…) This year I started making my own flatlay posts.  Attempting a new color scheme every month – we shall see how it goes but so far I really like it!  It’s fun to find items to use as props and arrange it to hopefully get a photo to support a book.

LET’S TALK ABOUT BOOKS!

Tell us, do you know the exact amount of paperback you own? How about ebooks? (I suggest not to count because I did & I regretted it) That would be scary to count.  Ebooks are the best thing ever but my favorites are owned in paperback as well.

Do you prefer paper or kindle? Kindle, only because it travels better.

Do you know your first paperback/ebook? Had to look this up but my first ebook was Pleasure Unbound: A Demonica Novel by Larissa Ione.

Do you remember your very first read? No idea.

What is your current read? Just started Dying for Rain by B.B. Easton.  20% in and WOW. If you haven’t read this series you must!

What is your least favorite read? I don’t have a specific least favorite but there are a few tropes I avoid and I primarily only read romance.  Really though I’ll give anything a shot.

How many books have you read so far this year? 10

What book are you anticipating most in 2020? There are way too many to list!

What is it that draws you to a book? (picture, blurb, author..or all?) Author (I have a list I would one-click without even knowing what the book is about) for sure.  If I’m just scanning kindle unlimited then a good cover grabs my attention.

Do you have a favorite genre you read? And why? Romance of course and I’m currently hooked on sports romance!

What is your favorite part about a story? (the beginning get to know each other, the sexy scenes, the middle right before the peak…) The part that grips your heart and makes you grab your book or kindle and hold it close to your face as if you can’t devour it fast enough to know what will happen!  Mostly it’s that part where the secret is revealed and hearts are broken and you wonder how it will all be put back together again.

Now, the real important question -> What is your favorite book & why! I could never ever choose just one as it changes all the time but there is one book I’ve read so many times and I really don’t know why.  Welcome to Temptation by Jennifer Crusie. It makes me laugh and swoon. Not sure if I read it at a time in my life that just made it stick but I read it at least once a year

Do you have any magical words for everyone out there?! It’s fun – just join in!

That concludes this SPOTLIGHT, hope you enjoyed it and gotten to know you fellow BOOKSTAGRAMMER, I sure have. SHOW HER some love. Thank you for participating!!

He believes in fate…

Hotshot, an all-new slow-burn second-chance romance from USA Today bestselling author Robin Bielman, is available now!

Here’s my plan: Crash through the ceiling of my family’s business to become the best hotelier on the West Coast. Nothing rattles me when it comes to a challenge and hard work, but when I spot my almost one-night-stand in my lobby, I’m thrown totally off my game. Alejandra is my dream girl. The one I can’t forget who got away—literally. Which might explain why I blurt out to my meddlesome, matchmaking grandmother that Alejandra is my date for her fast approaching and highly choreographed eightieth birthday party.

She’s been on pause…

Some decisions are harder than others, but agreeing to a date with Drew isn’t one of them. He’s a charming and gorgeous curveball I didn’t see coming, but the more time we spend together, the harder it is to remember to play it safe. I’ve made a promise, and even though I’m now torn, I have to honor it in order to move on from the past.

Drew feels like my future, but I’m about to put everything I want in jeopardy.

Excerpt

A giddy laugh bubbled up from deep down. I snuck a glance at myself in the mirror again. I was a lumpy diva, but, fuck it, I was a badass, too. And I was slowly skidding closer to the ground as the sweat that gathered behind my knee loosened my grip.
Every move I nailed got me a little closer to appreciating how far I’d come. From the first days of slipping off trying to do a basic spin with my feet planted firmly on the floor, to being a diva. This was my freaking body and I loved the shit out of it.
And if I kept telling myself that, maybe one day I’d believe it.
I lowered myself onto my bedroom floor with a flourish, throwing in one more spin for my imaginary audience.
The song ended and I braced my hands on my hips, panting and sweating like I’d run a 5k, with a grin so damn wide I felt it in my toes. Jumping up and down, I gave myself a high five and a few club-worthy woos. It made it harder to figure out if I was doing the tricks one hundred percent correctly, but I sure as hell wasn’t going to record myself to watch later or head to a pole dancing studio with full-wall mirrors. I wasn’t at that level of okay with me in all my glory—yet.
I flopped onto my bed and stared up at the ceiling. My hip-hugging short shorts and sports bra gave me little coverage, but pole dancing wasn’t exactly about modesty. I’d given it a try at the urging of my therapist during freshman year and hell if it hadn’t helped—some. It was a way for me to build strength, body confidence, and maybe attempt to feel a little sexy.
The door slammed downstairs and I shot up from the bed.
“Jules!” Berk’s unmistakable call sent me from pole dancing heart racing to ‘floor it, Louise,’ careening toward a cliff. I shot up and fell off my bed, rattling the perfume bottles on my dresser. Scrambling off the floor, I grabbed my sweatpants and tugged them on, hopping from foot to foot and sounding like I’d taken up bowling in my bedroom. I snagged my glasses off my desk and shoved them onto my face.
Berk was probably wondering how I’d trapped a wild animal up in my room. I grabbed my long sleeved T-shirt and hoodie off the back of my chair even though it was August. The fabric clung to my sweaty skin and I probably had a sweat-stashe going on, but that was better than him walking up here and finding me half naked. A panic spiral shot through me and I got dressed even quicker and threw open my door.
My feet barely touched any of the steps as I flew downstairs.
“Berk.” I fell into the kitchen, bracing my arm against the doorway. The butterflies in my stomach were replaced by a whole freaking safari. I tightened my lips to what I hoped was a non-serial killer level of smile. My heart was glowing like a spotlight, so I wrapped my arms tighter around myself. Tingles tiptoed up and down my spine at the sight of his floppy hair and jeans that hugged his ass and trim waist better than mine ever fit me.
His head shot up and the half of the cookie sticking out of his mouth broke off and dropped onto the counter. “There you are.” His words were muffled behind two manhole cover-sized cookies.
“Did you think I was hiding in my cookie box?”
“Is that what you’re calling it these days?” Killer smile and a direct hit. “The old cookie box.”

He jerks his thumb at his mansion. “Don’t you want a tour?” “Of Hearst Castle? No, thanks.” His expression tells me how incomprehensible that is. “Everyone always wants a tour. Always.” “I mean, it’s a very nice place, I’m sure.” Now he looks insulted. He turns to stare at the house, then turns back to me. “Nice?” “Please don’t take it personally. I’m not trying to start World War III here. A house like that just isn’t my thing.” “Your thing?” “Will you stop repeating everything I say?” “It’s just that I’m having trouble with the fact that you don’t like my house. Everybody likes it. Everybody. Especially women.” I sign in exasperation. “Oh, for goodness’ sake, Mason, I could give a flying fig what everyone else thinks. I’ll take my cozy little cottage over this place any day.” But why?” I fold my arms across my chest and turn my torso toward him. “Why are you so upset that I don’t like it when you don’t like it, either?” He shouts, “I never said I didn’t like it!” “You didn’t have to. The closer we got to it, the more you constipated you looked.” “That’s just my face!” “Baloney. You hate your house. Admit it.” Wild-eyed and wound up, he stares at me for a long, silent moment. Then he exhales in a huge gust and drops his head into his hands. He says miserably, “I totally hate it. It’s awful, isn’t it?” I pat his shoulder. “It’s beautiful, elegant, and absolutely ridiculous. Have you thought about asking the state legislature if they need new headquarters?” He moans into his hands. “I don’t even have any furniture except a bed. You should hear how bad it echoes in there. And everything is marble, so it’s always freezing cold. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and think I’m sleeping in a mausoleum!” I can’t help myself. I start laughing again. He lifts his head and glares at me. “It’s not funny!” “It’s so funny I can’t stand it.” “Do you have any idea what I paid for this place?” “Your gargantuan mausoleum?” I squint at it through the window. “I dunno. Bazillions?” “Exactly! Bazillions!” “I’m no financial whiz, Sparky, but I think they saw you coming.” When he groans and drops his head against the headrest, closing his eyes, I try to reassure him. “I’m sure there’s some oil baron with twelve ex-wives and a hundred kids who’d love to move into it. With all the members of his country club. And their housekeeping staff.” Mason opens his eyes and glares at me. I try to stifle another laugh, but fail. “And the entire population of Portugal.” “Ha ha.” “Oh, lighten up. It’s not like you can’t sell it.” Sounding panicked, he says, “But where would I live?” “You say that like there are zero options between here and a cardboard box.” “Name one.” “There’s a house for sale at the end of my block.” That astonishes him so much it leaves him speechless. “You’re right,” I say solemnly. “It’s only a three-bedroom. There’s not enough space for both you and your ego.” He looks away. “I’m just surprised you’d want me living on the same street as you.” “Are you kidding? Imagine how much fun we could have screaming obscenities at each other over the backyard fences. The neighbors would love it.” When he glances back at me and sees me smiling, he smiles, too. “Yeah, especially when they hear your PG version of cursing. ‘Dingwaddle’ this and ‘flying fig’ that. They won’t even know what language we’re speaking.” We smile at each other so long it starts to get uncomfortable. I look away, patting my hair to make sure no stray strands have escaped from my bun. After a rough throat clearing, Mason says, “I guess I’ll go in, then.” “Okay. Goodnight. And thanks again for dinner. I love that place.” When he doesn’t respond, I glance over at him. He’s staring back at me with the same warm look that flustered me at the restaurant. “You’re welcome, Pink. Anytime.” “So I’ll send you all the information on Stephanie as soon as I vet her file. Okay?” “Sure. Looking forward to it.” An awkward silence follows. Finally, Mason breaks it by saying, “Sweet dreams.” He opens the door and starts to get out. “Wait.” He turns to me, his hand on the door and a question in his eyes. “I, um, I need to say something.” He groans. “You’re killing me, you know that?” “No, this isn’t anything about you. You haven’t done anything wrong. This is about me.” Eyes alight, he settles back into his seat. “This should be interesting.” I search his face before I speak, because I want to be sure I don’t miss any change in his expression. “I’m sorry for teasing you about your ego. It’s not nice. And I don’t want you to think that I think there’s anything wrong with you, because I don’t.” His face goes through several different emotions before it settles on something I can’t identify. It’s part pain and part pleasure, with a whole lot of ambivalence thrown in. He says softly, “I know you don’t think there’s anything wrong with me. Which is what makes me assume your parents must’ve dropped you on your head a lot when you were a baby.” “Oh, for crying out loud. I’m trying to apologize here!” He grins. “You did. I heard you. And you don’t have to do it again, because I like it when you give me shit.” When I quirk my lips, he amends quickly, “The business. I meant I like it when you give me the business. Nobody else mouths off to me the way you do.” “Good to know,” I say, smiling. “Now that I know you like it, the gloves will come off, pal, so you better watch out.” “I can hardly wait.” We sit there grinning at each other, until Mason says, “Get outta here. I’ll talk to you next week.” “Aye-aye, Captain.” Then it all falls apart in slow motion. I don’t know what makes me do it. I honestly don’t. One minute we’re smiling and saying goodbye, the next minute I’m impulsively leaning over to give him a kiss on the cheek. Only he’s turning his head, so my target moves. Where his cheek was supposed to be, suddenly his lips are there instead. His warm, soft, beautiful lips, which part when they meet mine. Joyce42About J.T. Geissinger J.T. Blog Tour: A Favor for a Favor by Helena Hunting

AFFAF - BT banner

“Bishop and Stevie’s relationship is pure, raw, can’t-take-your-eyes-off-the-the-page kindle crack. One of my favorite books by this brilliant author.” – LJ Shen, USA Today bestselling author

A Favor for a Favor, all-new standalone slow burn romance from New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting, is available now!

A Favor for a Favor, cover

A new stand-alone romance about trading favors, battling wills, and winning love.

When I joined Seattle’s NHL expansion team, I thought it was the start of something great. But nothing ever goes the way you expect. Take my introduction to my new neighbor. She came rolling in on the hot mess express at midnight, making a racket while she tried to get into my team captain’s apartment. Did I mention that he’s married to a woman who definitely was not her?

Imagine my surprise when I end up with an injury that has me out of the game for weeks, and she’s the one to offer to help me. I should probably add that she’s not the captain’s mistress. She’s his sexy, pastel-haired younger sister.

So we come up with an arrangement: she rehabs me so that I can get back on the ice sooner, and she can add a professional athlete that isn’t her brother to her client list. Seems simple enough. As long as I can keep my hands to myself and my hormones in check.

She makes me lift my arm and drapes it over her shoulder. She’s incredibly small compared to me. She tucks one arm under my knee and gently grips the back of my calf with the other. “On the count of three,” she orders. I tense up when she hits three. She gets my leg about six inches off the floor, which is when I scream bloody murder again and grab on to her with both hands. “Okay. That’s not going to work. The angle is too awkward.” She taps her lip and holds her finger up. “I have an idea.” She ducks out from under my arm and hooks her fingers in the waistband of her yoga pants. “What the hell are you doing?” “Calm down. Some bathing suits have less coverage than my underwear. Besides, it’s nothing you haven’t seen before.” She kicks off her yoga pants, leaving her in a T-shirt and panties. They’re plain cotton boy shorts, which should be a good thing, but apparently my body doesn’t care that it’s not a satin or lace thong. All it cares about is the proximity of almost-naked pussy. Rook’s sister is standing in my bathroom in her underwear. If I had a sister who looked like Stevie and I knew that she was standing in one of my teammate’s bathrooms half-naked, I would probably kick the shit out of the guy. Thankfully, I have a brother. I try to keep my eyes averted, sort of, but I catch her reflection in the vanity mirror. She has fantastic legs. Athletic. Strong. And her ass. Goddamn. She definitely does a lot of squats, based on how round and firm it looks. The ache in my groin turns into that stabbing pain again because I’m getting hard. I think about my grandmother in a bathing suit to counteract the effect of Stevie being partly undressed. She steps into the tub, and I force myself to keep my eyes down, bringing up the image of that hot chick in the tub who turns into a rotting old lady in The Shining. That helps a bit. At least until Stevie moves into my personal space and starts touching me again. I mutter a string of profanity, especially when I feel her boob pressed against my arm for a few seconds. I have no choice but to latch on to her shoulder as we lift my leg over the edge of the tub. I’m sweating, I’m angry, and I hate my dick. “I need you to stop touching me!” It’s stupid because I’m still holding on to her, not the other way around. “Why are you yelling at me?” she shouts back. “Because you’re half-undressed in my tub, and I’m a guy, and apparently my dick is a fucking sadist. It honestly feels like my balls are on fire right now. A semi has never] been this painful.” “Well, close your damn eyes and think about dead things.” “It doesn’t matter if I close them. The image of you in panties is burned into the back of my lids, probably for the rest of my fucking life. It’s all I can see.” “You’d think you’d never seen a set of bare legs before.” She helps me lower myself into the tub and steps out. “It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a pair up close,” I grumble. “Such a surprise, with your warm, fuzzy personality.”
