Not my first read by the author and yes I have read all of her books and re-read them enough times to be able to relive them all without even looking at the book haha so you can say I am a fan. Little nervous to this my review might be the first yet but super excited to share my excitement for this book and series and world. So, I have been waiting on MASON forever it feels like, well since we first got to see him in CAL which he is just a baby, this is his mother’s Jill and his step-father Cal story (absolutely loved loved loved this one) that is Book #5 in the RIDE Series. That said I would highly recommend reading in order, honestly I think you get a lot in this book and if you have at least read any part of CAL or the other books it’ll make more sense, because Mason doesn’t have any blood siblings but lot’s of brothers and sister. His older brother COLE has his own story (Cole is Cal’s biological son) and then there is his older sister Emmie & Max and they both also have their own story. So, do you see now what I mean by reading part of the story before this one?! Yes!
That also said, I was so excited for this one because Mason may not be in the ‘family business’ but he is very much still part of the world. Mason is a successful and well known Football player in Colorado and our heroine is just the sweetest amount of vulnerable, sweet, beautiful and strong. This is exactly how I imagined Mason. Ellie meet’s Mason on accident, and he fabricates the truth a little. After being the strong one and telling him off, she doesn’t expect to see him again…after all she went to the party with her best friend only because of her. Ellie could care less about famous people, money or anything to do with it. Actually she had no idea who Mason was even after seeing him which was a fresh breath of air for him. When Mason shows up at her work, she ends up going to dinner with him. How do I explain this without giving it all away?! Gah! It’s a good doze of MEGAN’S world that’s how I want to put it and if you’ve read her books you’ll know. You have the alpha, sweet, smart, sexy and protective hero and again the heroine was just enough of everything needed for them to fit. Ellie get’s throw into lime light but with her past how can she be safe or keep her loved ones safe?!
