R E V I E W ➠ Fated Hearts by Kelly Elliott

(Southern Bride Book 8)

BLURB

It was only meant to be a short trip—up to Chicago for two days and then back to Texas. At least, that was the plan until a massive snowstorm leaves me trapped in Chicago at a local hotel with no definite timeframe of when I can go back home. If that wasn’t a crazy-enough turn of events—I wake up to a beautiful princess standing in my hotel room.
She was definitely a sight to behold, but she’s not the least bit thrilled to see me—think Momma Bear finding Goldilocks lying in her bed type of annoyance.
You see, my princess turned out to be a tired and angry traveler who had been double-booked…in my hotel room. With no rooms left anywhere in the city, we are forced to bunk together to ride out the storm. Now all that’s left to determine is will we survive each other.
After a rocky start and some much-needed rest, Analise and I soon forge a friendship that turns into a no-strings-attached fling.
When the fairytale we got lost in melts away, we have an even bigger storm to weather that we never saw coming. The one where I’m faced with the uncertainty of having to walk away from the one woman who has opened a part of my heart I had thought was as frozen over as the city we found each other in.

Fated Hearts is a stand-alone novel and the last book in the Southern Bride series.

“Are you asking me to sleep with you?”
He let out a soft laugh. “We did that last night, Anna. I’m asking if you want me to fuck you and show you just how good we could be together.”

Not my first read by the author and not my last. I have loved this series so much and sad to see it come to an end. I really want to scream that I loved it overly so much but our hero here gave me too many vibes that I really wanted to still smack him upside the head even after the HEA. It is a 50/50 love with him.

The hero here has a past, a not so favorite past of one night stands and no relationship type of nights. When he meets the heroine, he happens to be naked and in the same bed she was hoping to relax in after the airline debacle. Yes these two got stuck in the same hotel room after being stuck at the same airport. Needles to say, it was a hate-to-love relationship. They had their fun during that time, competing, the angst, the looks and finally the best part where all the pent up frustration form both meets. I will give the hero this he was honest the whole time with the heroine on his intentions so I give him credit for this but this execution’s at times, god NO, smack smack smack! Even knowing his past and the reason why, there were moments where I myself would have walked away and never looked back so the heroine was a better person than I would have been. She has back bone and spice but I felt for her at times, my heart broke for her. That said, as much as this frustrated me at times it also made my heart bloom. It felt like a game of tug of war for me.

We have this hero who is honest, fun, smart and sexy. Then you have a heroine who is living life, knows what she wants and so beautiful looking just like Cinderella herself. When these two came together it wasn’t all sugar and nice…but definite SPICE. I really just was hung up on how the hero treated the heroine at times, and it felt a little overly harsh on my end and I wasn’t expecting that so I held a grudge on the hero for a little. In my defense I really just wanted him to let her help him, but I did understand his feelings.

Expect angst, fun, laughter, spice, romance, heartbreak and pain! Again I am sad to see this series end but it has been a beautiful ride through out all of them!
