Not my first read by the author and not my last. I’ve been a Lani fan for many years and I was so excited about this one, even if she did *smack shock us* at the end.

I think I am still in a little bit of a shock as to this book. First I will say I’d recommend reading the Cross Fit series as to the shocker will make a lot more sense. That said….WHAT, WHY LANI? *insert crying emoji* This was, left me speechless because by the time my gears were running as to WHAT and WHO series this is from part of the Cross Fit Series I WANTED TO SCREAM AND CRY at the same time. That said let me tell you a little about this book, I say little because I honestly will NOT spoil the twist and ending for anyone! I also would highly recommend reading the MADD CROSSFIT SERIES first! In my opinion this book would go much better with after reading at least the last book in that series!

This is a story of monsters and the men that turned into them. We have the hero who is well experienced in life, his kids grown, divorced and living a life of hell in a monster’s body. So why can’t he stop thinking about his best friend’s daughter. She practically grew up alongside his own, same age and all. Little did he know the feelings were mutual, but the world will try to keep them apart. The heroine is a 22 year old who has suffered from child hood, don’t get me wrong she has the best support system….her father and brother, except when she lost her brother she also might as well have lost her father. This one broke my heart because as the heroine is young and has her tendencies to act on that, she is still grown for her age. She’s always had a thing for Mr. Crow just never acted on it, when opportunity presents itself, this is where the she acts her age a little comes in. But danger is just around the corner and not just the H & H learn a lesson in this book.

I. CAN’T. WAIT. FOR. MORE. I knew this series was going to blow me away and be good but I did NOT expect this. A little note to the author: you just had you, didn’t you…had to go and break out hearts?

Not my first read by the author, she is still a little NEW to me so I am getting used to the style. This is most def a DARK ROMANCE with twists. Also this is a cliffy in which I did not pay attention or bother to research so it was a surprise cliffy to me. I don’t usually mind them but they are not my favorite and I should have known since this author is known for them.

Before I get into the the rest I want to call out the heroine and say that it took me a while to get used to her. She is 20 and immature at that age on certain scenes and action, I was hoping for a more stronger heroine in a sense of acting older than her age but it did work out in it’s own. Just had a hard time feeling her fully. She is very verbal, foul mouth and acts tough that might have played a part that annoyed me about her.

To me this was a dark romance with a twist and the twist being that it could very well be a not dark romance just a age-gap steamy romance, but the circumstances made it dark. You wouldn’t put a construction worker as a dark hero but boy was he dark. His past was equally exciting as hurtful. I really don’t want to give out too much but will say key words like ‘kink & bdsm fire hot sex’ that’s all about that. There is a lot to this and I can’t wait to read the rest and hope they get a happy ending a delicious romantic sexy ending that is because these two together are CHEMISTRY OVERLOAD loved loved loved them together! It’s got danger, angst, spice and realness to it, again can’t wait to read more of these two!

The hero is a single-dad pro baseball player. When he moved cities and his 2 most adorable children, he is in need of a Nanny, in walks our beautiful down to earth heroine. The heroine comes from money but has always been paving her own path, humble, beautiful and sweet. When a chance happens where she steps in to be the temp Nanny for the hero’s kids, she falls in love with the kids more than when she got to see them at school where she has been a substitute. They together, gah the heroine’s big heart is so damn beautiful and the way she is with his kids. I do also love her feisty sexy side, the hero really steps it up with the SWOON SEXY-ness…yes I made that word up and it now exists!

It had some interesting twist and turns not going to lie, I did not see that going the way it did regarding the hero, I may also have been a little mad at him in the end, luckily he redeems himself but I def would have still held a tiny grudge about his behavior. But I really really enjoyed this read and knew it would be amazing as this series is!

Not my first time reading the author, I am a big fan and I love this series and well all of Natasha’s book. That said this beauty did make it on my TOP 2021 MUST READ list which is very short this year so far. You will need tissues handy with this one!

First of I want to say that this is kind of a 2nd gen H&H because we’ve read about their parents now it’s their turn. This broke me in so many ways and not going to lie, took a while to piece me back together. Emotional, suspenseful, forbidden, sweet, romantic and addicting! That’s the best way I can describe these two along with the story line. What I loved the most is the emotions between H&H but also on their own. Lot’s is happening here but it will feel like it went so slow after you’re done reading. I won’t spoil anything as I am always a no-spoiler reviewer BUT i want to because it’s just so painfully beautiful. p.s. If we can have it recorded here that I would really love to see Natasha’s give us a full on NEW series but a SUSPENSE and even a MYSTERY romance…I really love her suspense romances because they are equal amount of each and even thought it rattles you, it sooths you with the love.

Little about the book: Chelsea and Mayson are meant to be. Mayson is the mysterious man, older, harder and just basically never even spoke more than two words to the heroine. But that did not stop the feelings from forming for her. From the day she met him and on, she has been fascinated with the quiet brooding man, imagining what it would feel like to be held by him. Mayson on the other hand has never seen a more beautiful woman than Chelsea but with his baggage there was no way he would ever taint her beauty. When Mayson falls in the hands on Chelsea there isn’t a more secure place to be. From them watching the sunrise together to Chelsea promising Mayson to show him the beauty of the colors in the sunrise to their first kiss to the end.

Again, have tissue handy and be prepared. There is a death scene if you’re triggered but nothing else but pure good writing.

Not my first read by the author, I am a huge can and have read all of her books from beginning to now!

Okay I have to say it but THE FORBIDDEN in this give me ALL. THE. FEELS. and I am loving it. I am going to try and not give out too much, after all I do spoiler-free review’s but this one it’s going to be hard not to blurb it out. This is a forbidden, brothers-best-friend reverse romance. I say reverse because it did feel a little backwards at the end but there is a reason. And I do have a little downfall because of the actions through out the book the ending did feel kind of rushed. Yes there is a reason but still felt rushed. That said here we go:

Heroine is the ‘little sister’ who lost a lot at a young age, only has her older brother who is very protective of her and JACE the hero. Jace is 6 years older and them 3 had a very weird family dynamic, after Farrah’s parents died he moved in to kind of help out. After a night where she couldn’t hide her feelings anymore she finds out that Jace has been feeling the same but it all felt so wrong. Fast forward 3 years, we come back to a HARD Farrah I mean who could blame her, I would have guarded my heart very much so too. With her current asshole of a boyfriend, she is glad that Jace is back in Nathan her brother’s life because their friendship means a lot to them. But what does it mean for Farrah’s heart? Can second-chances really happen?

That’s all I am going to say because otherwise I’ll just spoil it. It’s not a tradition time line, you get both POV’s and there is a lot of where the hero and heroine are dating other people, at the beginning there are some personal minor triggers but I will be honest and skipped over that small part (what can I say I really wanted to get the full feel of the story) glad I stuck with it, it was definitely unique and a slow to fast back to slow burn type of feel. But the epilogue will have you SO HAPPY!

Beautiful story of 3 people whoa re forever bound by an event, where a forbitten romance struck that never stood a chance against and a love shared not just between the main characters. Lot’s of depths, definitely wish it was longer as always I crave that with Penelope’s books but I’ll take what she gives us. Highly recommended, pure Penelope fashion writing!

I don’t know why but I think Amy is the only author I’ve read where her heroine could be age 20 and so mature and awesome that I overlook the age (usually the younger heroines are immature and winey annoying) this is far from it and I love her writing style for it. Also I AM MENTALLY DRAINED after reading this, might need a day or two to move on! WOW!

This book simply BLEW ME AWAY. From page one to the sweet sweet end. I don’t even know where to start. It’s a forbidden, age-gap, rocker romance with a brother’s best friend and all the FELLS in the world. One thing I will always touch on is Amy’s writing, it’s poetic with big words that make you dream! That’s the best way I can describe it. This one contained mystery and suspense which heightened the appeal of it all. Rhys and Maggie are like the DREAM COME TRUE HEA because their love may have crept up on them but something between them has always been there. The sweet innocent smart beautiful Maggie and the big tough rugged playful Rhys that was harboring a much deeper secret and chip he was carrying on his shoulder. Even though Maggie had her own set of problems happening, she was just amazing, a favorite heroine for being so stoic and sweet and just all about the hero but still fun and young. I am not going to give out a lot but will say that THERE IS A LOT! You will be whirled away into a life that you can only think of but Amy brings that alive in your imagination, just was fantastic!

Not my first read by the author, she has been a favorite and I have read a great amount of her books. I was so excited for this one because well she wasn’t going to give us this story and a MC from Lani was everything I needed!

I don’t know where to begin, it was all so fantastic. Yes this is MC but with a twist, because the hero Lynnwood is the new mayor. Yeah, Lani gave us a hero that is MC hard, rugged, dangerous with the combo of a CEO Suit Wearing sexy head over heels man! I was drooling over the hero the whole time. I really LOVED the heroine too, she was different (a Lani typical) but in the best way, quirky, fun, her own woman and realistic! Everything about this was realistic and not dragged out, things occurred that maybe not fully happen in real life but better. These two meet officially in a little but of a pickle, when Six was just minding her own business and Lynn well being what he is best, ruthless.

There is romance with a sexy sexy sexy twist. I mean I was fanning myself with the sex scenes, naughty, dirty and sexy! Their love may have been coming fast but neither of them realized how fast, until tragedy strikes and Lynn is faced with a life or death, makes a man realize what he has and needs! I loved their relationship because Lynn accepted Six’s quirky weird ways, saying and actions without hesitation. There are twist and turns in this one but a gripping read that will have you staying up until 1am to finish it! CAN’T WAIT FOR MORE! P.S. age gap romance, and beware timeline might be little here and there but there is a reason for that!

Not my first read by the author and I have to be honest I was a little worried about reading this because I really do not like the hero to be the younger one. At the beginning I was set to put it into a category but the more I read the more I freaking fell in love with Slade. My god did I fall hard!

This is not your typical hero younger heroine older romance because it’s so much more. Not only does the heroine in here gain everything back mainly herself thanks for the hero but she teaches him a few things along the way. The hero is a 31 year old that is a new Cardiac Surgeon and the heroine is a 39 year old woman working for the came company looking for that promotion, a company that wants to take it back or rather forward tot he youth. She is a divorcee to a man that not only didn’t know her but also left her for a younger woman who is her identical twin almost. When she ends up in a bar alone trying to nurse her no not broken heart but the new manager hired, who is out to get her…Slade slides in just as he belonged there from the beginning. Their conversation is not to typical and when she meant to blow him off to leave her alone because why would a younger very sexy man want to be talking to her old grumpy ass she is surprised to learn quick that Slade is not a push over and a man who is genuinely a good human being. These two get into all kinds of trouble and the main kind of it all, the love trouble. I can’t say more because honestly this is a book to live through…I promise you that you will LOVE this no matter what type of reader you are. It’s fun, flirty, genuine, romantic, funny, heart breaking, sweet…it has it all. I am so happy I gave this my all because I got all from it. p.s. beware of their stolen kisses, stolen touches and the real real feeling of two people genuinely interested in one another and the BUTTERFLIES!

Not my first read by both authors, though Angel I have not read in a very long time. Meredith’s books I’ve been in love with since my very first reads many moons ago so naturally I was excited to be able to try my FIRST PARANORMAL ROMANCE so that also got me excited. I really always wanted to try it and couldn’t think of a better author duo to dive into.

Not my first read by both author’s, I have read all of Meredith’s books and Angel Payne’s it’s been a while since I’ve read one of her books. WHAT A POWER COMBO they both are. This is my FIRST PARANORMAL romance though, and I mean REALLY FIRST…I’ve always wanted to try it and here I am. IN LOVE WITH THIS from the first page. Now, I don’t know what’s right or wrong or normal or not when it comes to this but from what I’ve read, I liked it ALL.

Professor Maximus is a man that has lived always wondering…always wondering, what happened, why him, what he is…what’s the truth?! Always in the back of his head but he found himself lost and able in books. Something he couldn’t hurt, and that was structured..with a happy ending. That’s all until Kara walks into his course. He isn’t sure what the pull is or fascination. When Kara walks into the course Maximus Kane teaches, she keeps to the back…better that way. Now this is where the part of I am not sure whats right how to word it but Kara is a Demon and she can sense and feel people, but Maximus gives off something else, something unknown to her but the pull is too strong to not want to explore it.

I don’t want to get into detail of the book because I still think you need to have that excitement I felt reading it. But I want to say since this is my first time reading paranormal, I don’t know if it’s the ladies and it was heavy on the Romance (which I love) but gosh, I couldn’t put it down. The Demon and her side of the family, hell, god like creature and so forth really just worked for me in this. This is a cliffy and well I’ll just be hanging over here waiting for Book #2 which I will be anticipating very much! So happy I gave this a try!

Not my first read by the author, and I am a huge fan of her dark romance and well all her books but the dark, she does it well!! So happy and honored to be on her ARC team and received this first hand! I dived right in with no expectation BECAUSE I have a love.hate deal with Alek (please ALL THE PRETTY THINGS Trilogy) I can’t say it fully because it will ruin it. But because of that, I’ve bene on the fence about Alek…

Alek is ruthless and I mean that in all the forms in EVERY form, but even from the trilogy I learned something about him…his heart (or a piece of it that’s left) is HUGE! I don’t care what you say but his weakness may be common in someone eye’s but beautiful to me. Definitely have a weak spot for him, aside from all his bad-ness! This was sinfully delicious! And I say that with respect to “HIM” but talk about being all kind of ways of fucked up after this…

This is all I am going to say about it because I just finished and I like writing my reviews just as I finish so it’s fresh in my mind and my emotions. I was a MESS. An utter mess by the end, what’s worse is HOW DOES ONE WAIT TILL SEPTEMBER for more? As tragic as it was, dangerous, sexy, sinful, deadly…in a way Alek’s story truly is a forbidden act. I am leaving it at that, it’s a cliffy so yeah!

She might even teach Liam a thing or two. Liam the tortured hero who really has never had anyone care for him or push him the way Ellie does…the only question is will he let her in or let her go?

This was a bit unconventional as in reverse roll type. The heroine is 7 rears the hero’s senior. The hero might be younger but definitely not not alpha haha that made sense to me in NY head. It’s a sweet story of two people that arose from a “mistake” and found that being together had its perks, being around one another wasn’t a hardship. Like i said i really doubt want to give out too much, but still the sports romance, older heroine, unconventional hero, all wrapped up in fate.

Not my first read by author, the reason I signed up for this truly because the blurb promised so much (also i love dark romances) but the cover as well, I mean you can’t go wrong with Joseph. Sadly from the first few pages it did not live up to the blurb for me already. I don;t know how to put it but the atmosphere for me was not pleasant. I don’t know how to explain the feeling but if you’re an avid reader you might understand when reading something that just rubs you the wrong way. It’s a story of a older man that had something, then lost it all so young only to work his way back up all alone and his hard work paid off. The heroine is a younger woman just graduating college, in the same field as the hero. They first laid eyes on one another when the hero held a speech at the heroine’s college.

I don’t know but I was expecting a little bit more romance and not just an arrogant and asshole hero and a sex crazed immature young heroine. I really do get the idea and the whole thing but for me, not my cup of tea and I was really excited for this one. I know other people may enjoy this type of read, and I want to emphasize on MY OPINION not everyone’s that said, I wish i the best but I will not be seeking an ARC for book #2 or #3. The one amazing thing for me is the author’s writing, it was smooth transitions, beautiful words that flowed together, and I can always appreciate that.

Things that made me not enjoy the book:
-In the first pages the hero is young (meaning the previous) which is fine but he was rather engaged in other activities that obviously did not involve the heroine — so okay, I moved on past that.
-Then we get another woman who has meaning in hero’s life along with being an ex lover or current whichever way you want to look at it, and that one turned me off from the hero right away. And the fact that I got THAT before he even met the heroine.
-Let’s talk about the heroine, from the beginning I did not like her, she seems immature and sex crazed to me, I don’t like woman like that and it turned me off. Just not my cup of tea!

Not my first read by the author and I have read book #1 in this series as well! I want to explain myself before I start because, I love Lani’s book and book one in this series was actually really good (for me) this one unfortunately I wasn’t able to click with except just the fact of reading it. It’s not bad per-say but I think you have to have read her before to understand this type of writing. The hero is much older than the 19-year old heroine that’s still in high school.

Everything that could go wrong, went wrong for our heroine here. She lost her parents at a very young age and everything seemed to head downhill from there. When she runs into our hero, it’s her directing him to take his shirt off and pose by his cruiser. When she makes a bold move, the hero only laughs in her face and leaves. Forward a little bit of time, she runs into some trouble to which the hero is done and tired of running from…so GAME ON!

I have been debating on this one between 4 or 4.5 stars. I love Lani’s books and words and I always have a blast reading, but this one just didn’t do it FOR ME. I really couldn’t connect, that’s the only reason for my rating.

New to me author and books, very appreciative to the author for my ARC! This is a dark, forbidden, erotic and age-gap romance, but so much more! This book is more reality than the fairy tale type of image. It’s raw, real, passionate and PLOT TWIST. Just when I thought I got it, I didn’t and will say that I was not expecting the outcome of the book.

This is something where the hero is not your every day type of hero, there are secrets here, little mystery, lot’s of erotic and forbidden, which if you love this will be it for you. The heroine will come off as a semiprecious girl but in all honestly when you find out the ending, it will all make sense. It’s something I am not used to ready on a normal base so it was rather refreshing and there is a book #2 coming that I will definitely be looking into. I don’t do spoilers so no more from me that hasn’t already been said in the review’s but will say that this is not a regular romance!
