Not my first read by the author & not my last. I have read the other 2 books in this series and let’s just say they both ended up on my TOP MUST READ list! This one was a little different for me, I felt like the author leaned more towards the younger gen read (I don’t really know how to explain this to anyone aside from it felt more NA YA to me) Don’t get me wrong, it was still steamy and alpha just different form the first two books.

This is a heavy side of enemy-to style and while I do love that trope it felt very much the whole time in this. I think what I just couldn’t connect with, with this trope in this book is the ‘make him or her jealous’ styles. But this is all person preferences for me of course. Other than that, this book was dynamic, long and satisfying. I do have to say that I LOVED the hero more than the heroine, they really fit well together but at times Jules felt very over-powering to me. The hero has the biggest heart and can be rough in the right places and sweet in all the rest. Their banter was fun to interact with also. GREAT ADDITION TO THE SERIES!

Not my first read by the author and she became a favorite author really fast after just one book. That said I have been super excited about this one and boy did it live up to the hype inside my head. The best part is you will love not only the main characters but also side ones as well. It is a tragic story I will say that and I cried many time through out but boy did it have feeling and love!

The hero and heroine have a sort of history together. Having gone through the same tragic event, they don’t see each other again util many years later when the heroine in fact does return to her hometown after her mother left her the mountain top property. When the hero finds out that it wasn’t a stranger that bought the house in hopes to demolish it and starts fresh, but the owner’s daughter was a shock to him. He has bene holding so much guild from all those years ago, along with hate. That hate gets thrown towards the heroine, but she is used to it…hell she is now prepared for it all. Having gone through something life changing you don’t just get to move on like a normal person no, her family was one of those people who didn’t believe the law stood by anything and lived in their own world with their own rules. Not regretting a single moment from that incident, she vows to open up her Animal Sanctuary and build something new on the land that brought so much pain.

You truly get the back story to what had happened, why and how. There is so much amazing writing in this I don’t even know where to begin to fully review and not wanting to but also wanting to give you all the spoilers and just scream it all out. I won’t do that but I will say that this is a emotional ride. It does not have a trigger on me but I can see people having one to this due to it’s nature. The hero and heroine complement each other in the bed and worst ways. The heroine is not only strong but also sweet, kind hearted and SO STRONG. The hero is a man’s man following his father’s footsteps and is the Sheriff of the town he loves so much, carries so much on his shoulders. For all his siblings. He has 2 sisters and 1 brother. You really fall in love with all of them, his whole family. And how the treat the heroine, only the best of the heart can do that. See, I really am trying not to give out any spoilers. It is a slow burn, a sweet slow burn filled with action, mystery, suspense, romance, laughter and the best kisses! I’m sorry but these kisses I truly felt word by word!

Hero and Heroine may be from different worlds but when it spills into one it’s filled with so much beauty even the ugly sides. The kisses will have you swooning, the banter laughing out loud and the suspense to keep you on your toes. Catherine truly gives us a story to remember and want to re-visit over and over again!

Not my first read by the author, she is a very top favorite author of mine and I have read almost all of her books! And there is a variety of them! That said, I was a little nervous about this one because the hero is played part of his twin-brother’s book and it was sad as well as frustrating for me. So, when this came along, I jumped on to read it right away. It was everything I expected it to be coming from a play-boy hero! Too bad he finally met his match, in our case THANK GOD he did, the heroine dishes it out equally. They both may be a lot alike than they think!

I honestly couldn’t think of a better song for this book. I could listen to it on repeat while I read this, GAH my heart! This book truly will frustrate you as much as make you fall in love. Now I have mentioned that the hero has a twin-brother who has his own book and they are sort of intertwined (you’ll see when you read it, I am not spoiling anything even the pain) he is very much the anti-hero with a big heart secretly under all that.

Hero and Heroine need to navigate not only their own guilt they are carrying heavy on their shoulders but also each other. It’s all fun and games until lines are crossed and feelings that are unfamiliar surface. I loved watching it unfold, even wanted to smack her her really hard a few times. What he lacks in relationship experiences he definitely makes up in physical. But that isn’t always enough. You also get great side characters from the previous books in series and the interconnected ones. I can’t wait to read more. This one is OFF THE CHARTS SEXY so don’t read this say at the gym like I tried!

Not new to me author. I have read a few other books by her and enjoyed them. I was excited to get this one, wanted to see how this relationship would play out them being more of friends than.

Hero is broken. He is the kindest man, protecting everyone and helping when he can. The heroine is the sweetest and well has wanted the hero for a very long time but never thought the same feelings would be coming from him. This is a very slow burn just to warn you, it’s sweet, homey feel, fun, laughter, broken souls and amazing side characters that really bring in the story. AAAAAND the hero calls the heroine Angel (yes i know a lot of hero’s do) but this is too sweet and you’ll see why. This is a longer read and I am not going to be giving out a lot because I could go on and go for pages about this. Imagine wanting someone but only to sabotage yourself when getting close to what you want. It’s a complicated story and I’d say that you can totally read this as a standalone. Be ware you’ll get hooked and then want to go back and read all of the author’s other books! There is a lot of feelings and heart in this story not just between H&H, but just a feeling of being part of a world. The author does a great job bringing you in and describing the scenes so they are playing like a movie in your head. Thank you to the author for providing me with a ARC and as always I keep my review’s honest. I look forward to reading more by you!

Not my first read by the author and not my last. I’ve been a Lani fan for many years and I was so excited about this one, even if she did *smack shock us* at the end.

I think I am still in a little bit of a shock as to this book. First I will say I’d recommend reading the Cross Fit series as to the shocker will make a lot more sense. That said….WHAT, WHY LANI? *insert crying emoji* This was, left me speechless because by the time my gears were running as to WHAT and WHO series this is from part of the Cross Fit Series I WANTED TO SCREAM AND CRY at the same time. That said let me tell you a little about this book, I say little because I honestly will NOT spoil the twist and ending for anyone! I also would highly recommend reading the MADD CROSSFIT SERIES first! In my opinion this book would go much better with after reading at least the last book in that series!

This is a story of monsters and the men that turned into them. We have the hero who is well experienced in life, his kids grown, divorced and living a life of hell in a monster’s body. So why can’t he stop thinking about his best friend’s daughter. She practically grew up alongside his own, same age and all. Little did he know the feelings were mutual, but the world will try to keep them apart. The heroine is a 22 year old who has suffered from child hood, don’t get me wrong she has the best support system….her father and brother, except when she lost her brother she also might as well have lost her father. This one broke my heart because as the heroine is young and has her tendencies to act on that, she is still grown for her age. She’s always had a thing for Mr. Crow just never acted on it, when opportunity presents itself, this is where the she acts her age a little comes in. But danger is just around the corner and not just the H & H learn a lesson in this book.

I. CAN’T. WAIT. FOR. MORE. I knew this series was going to blow me away and be good but I did NOT expect this. A little note to the author: you just had you, didn’t you…had to go and break out hearts?

Not my first read by the author and I have read the previous series books too! This one I was thankfully pre-warned by Kelly because she knows me too well and knows my dislikes so I VERY MUCH appreciated that. That said I did truly wanted to straggle BISHOP.

This one took me by surprise to be honest, and in a good way that is. This second-chance romance really is truly about the Hero and Heroine and even thought I was expecting something at the turns, it was mainly a calmer story if you will. Still packed with action and the banter and chemistry, sneaky chemistry…but more calmer. What’s heartbreaking is the heroine, she puts herself back out there and wants to get back what she lost, she is older now, more smart and more in control….but yet she still can’t control one thing: fate. Once I got past when I wanted to kill Bishop that one time, I cried, laughed and swooned! I can truly say that this is one of my favorites in the series. Expect to have all your emotions brought out, the chemistry, the feel between H&H is unreal I don’t even know how to put it into words, but for all the heart break and hurt the after the storm was beautiful!

This author is fairly NEW to me, I haven’t read enough to determine the style fully so this was a fun read I got from the author because I was complaining on a certain read at that time and this got me out of it. I said fun read I meant it, you get both characters that are pretty strong and then they also share and have history. It was a fun festive ride is what I will say and the hot-head on the Hero was a turn on & off at the same time to me, the swoony moments were great but when he was a A-hole he WAS one for sure. Thank you Claire for sending this over to me I had fun reading it and it got me away from the bad book that I had read at that time and to be able to continue reading more ARCs!

Not a new to me author, I also have read all the books in this series. Two things first off: my idiot self did not realize this will be Book #1’s daughter (the hero’s) and when I figured it back out again I about screamed of excitement. And the second thing to get out of the way is that even though I absolutely loved this book I really really really think that the hero did not GROVEL enough. I said what I said!

Lets start with the heroine Winnie like the Poo 😉 she is a sweetheart! Her personality is addictive and her smile and laugh will make you want to too. She is someone who is in love with love. Hopeless romantic through and through, until enough is enough and she makes a bet with her sister for a good reason. She is rehabilitating herself from love. Then Dex the single-dad firefighter ex-marine moves in next door and not only is he hot in a tight shirt but his two daughters are what dream kids are made of. The way he is with them will have you melt your heart even in his grumpy grumpy self! This is YES a age-gap duhh I wouldn’t expect anything else but the second gen to have at least a repeat. In this case if you are starting with this book in the series DON’T! Stop and go back to book #1 because every single one of these books is CAPTIVATING! That said back to the story, so Dex moves in next door and what does a firefighter do when an alarm goes off? Come to the rescue…in this case right time wrong place because Winnie is just getting out of the steamy hot shower and ends up well the neighbors end up seeing a little more than any of them wanted, and one of them didn’t mind of course. This story has so much fun, laughter, heart, romance and action. It’s almost a history repeats itself that means you get a glimpse of Frannie and Mack. I will say that this could have been a 5 plus read for me but I just couldn’t let go that the hero really didn’t grovel enough, in my head that is but over-all the story was sweet and fun!

Not my first read by the author, she is a TOP FAV author I’ve read and re-read countless times. That said I am not going to lie and say I was not nervous about something new and now from this author. I just spend 4 books into a different Series and I couldn’t connect and did not like so I was nervous about this.

Heroine: Chloe Pierce – Hero: Judge Oakley

Okay first expression until page 20 before it goes into THE NOW. I liked & hated it at the same time because *frustrated* i absolutely hate when the hero and/or heroine are already in relationship especially in love with the other person because it takes me a long time to want to see or be able to see them together romantically. UGH just absolutely hate those scenes, granted I made it out of that debacle I had to take a break before diving back in because I’m a emotional reader and that made me want to continue but hate-reading bc I’m so annoyed that was in the book. I’m sure not a lot of people will read this long ass review or care but I am as honest with my review’s as I am with reading emotionally. What’s worse is from page 21 to 30 I COULD NOT STAND THE HEROINE OMFG can she just shut up and stop! *deep breath*

28% in: These two could not be more opposite if I tried. I am going to say that I am warming up to the heroine, a lot is really happening. So if you’ve never read KA you won’t know when I say this but A LOT has already happened and I am barely at the first quarter marker. KA’s book are long but when you get the right hit, you’ll want it to be even longer! I wish I could say that I warmed up to the heroine by 35% but honestly at that to me she is just a high-maintenance bitch. The little that she let go was so sweet and I was warming up to her but boy could she turn up the bitch, to a high. UGH!!!!!!!! In all the books and years I have read KA I honestly can’t say that I have disliked a heroine as much as this one. Such a shame because I do enjoy the plot and story line so far and ABSOLUTELY HEAD OVER HEELS IN LOVE WITH THE HERO. Why would KA do this to us, why?

AND I knew I would DNF this book because I was getting close to half of it and the heroine just got worse and worse. How anyone can feel sorry for a high handed, have all the money in the world and everything she is woman well in this case a child 23 year old…I don’t get it. She was not only mean and high maintenance but also disrespectful and just so damn high handed. UGH I think I officially give up on KA because the old style of her writing *not including the ROCK CHICKS those I couldn’t stand* was where I loved the author and I guess you outgrown books and authors as much as people and this is where I part with this. SO SO ANGRY because I just don’t get why she would write such a mean heroine. And before anyone says you should have stuck it out because in the end she redeems herself, no thanks she done so much damage by being a bitch that I don’t think I could ever feel sorry for her rich entitled ass. The only reason this is getting a 3 star is the Hero and my respect for KA’s writing.

Not my first read by the author, she is actually my top favorite author and one I’ve read for years back in the day when I started. That said I really have been trying to give this series a good go and I truly did it’s just I honestly could not. I think a lot has to do with it because I read the Rock Chicks and did not like it at all, and so this kind of felt like it and I just couldn’t get into it. Another factor is that I truly love KA’s long books but this one particularly was just TOO LONG and I got BORED a lot of times. I as always love the KA writing style and can appreciate her sense for wording and keeping you engaged, unfortunately this series is not a favorite or for me but I did give it my best go.

Pepper is a character that well is perplexed and had a lot happening and going on that that is where I think my I GOT BORED came from is, that dare I say it THERE WAS TOO MUCH GOING ON that I did not see needed to be part. I know it’s an unpopular opinion to everyone but I am always honest in my review’s even if it’s my beloved TOP FAV author that I have read over the years. I hung onto that KA STYLE that I forgot everything else and when I did get into it I just could not connect. That said I will say that anyone who reads this book I would recommend reading from Book #1 and be prepared to really pay attention into it all to be able to fully get the feel. There is a lot of characters, a lot of romance, sweet, danger, suspense and hot scenes.

Not my first read by the author and I have read some of the other books in this series. This one I was nervous for because I kind of hand an idea what was coming. It was very intense and action packed with scenes, I think I was missing the romance + heat a little in this one. Under the circumstances of the story I do understand it but that’s just my personal thought on it.

The hero here is the sweetest man alive, he is generous, smart, sexy, handsome and just all around the best guy can be. The heroine is a woman that comes with a past that’s tainted and complicated. These two have actually known each other for a couple years before anything proceeded. The heroine is the ‘big boss’ at the safe house in town and the hero happens to volunteer there on top of his actual job. When a situation occurs, the hero does not hesitate to be there for the heroine. Now this is where it gets complicated I think, because the heroine past is really a rather dark one (not that the hero’s isn’t. they are equally both tainted in their own color) but hers happens to come up from the dark and try to not only ruin the life she has build but also take away people who mean the world to her. A offer happens to slightly save the situation until everything and I mean everything goes against them, will they be able to stick it through or will their own personal darkness ruin it all?

I really think that this was something I was not expecting, the feelings it brought out in me, the story over all. As much as I was fascinated, I also wanted to throw things, be angry with them, smile and feel the first real kiss…I was all over with my emotions in the best way of course. I will be going back to see which ones I have not read in the series and definitely read them.

Not my first time reading the author but it has been a very long time. I dived into this kind of blind and was just going with the flow. And the flow took me to BDSM-ALPHA-TOWN *insert drooling emoji*

I also want to let you all know that I did not figure out nor look hard enough to know this would be a cliffy so there is that. This is a form of office-romance where the heroine is a little clueless and the hero is a lot dangerous! It’s hot, steamy, sexy, romantic and captivating! The hero is one of the big guys, owner, boss whatever you want to call him he calls the shots, the heroine is just trying to get by…enter her working at the same club as her best friend and ending up being the boss’s personal pet. As much as there is heat in this equally there is danger, secrets, mystery and lies. The cliffy-end is INTENSE!

Can’t wait for Book #2!

Not my first read by the author and I do love her writing style. This was a bittersweet review for me because she wrote one of THE BEST HEROINES I have read in a very long time! My issue was with the hero, he had and was all of the grumpy, alpha, broody type but the end of actions were just to me not excusable, too many open variables for me to forgive the way the heroine did and it made me hate him because it was a repeated offend. That said, he is why the rating is at where it is. Very bittersweet because I love this author and I was so excited *sigh* but again this is all person preferences of course.

Heroine is EVERYTHING, I want to be her when I grow up because not only was she beautiful, smart, witty, sarcastic and brave…she had the biggest and most honest heart. Wore her heart on the sleeve even after what she went through. She run and works at a pet sanctuary for injured animals, wild animals that is. Takes care of them with the funniest little old lady. Oh, and let me mention she has a best friend that is the bomb! The hero comes from the left, because really I thought the hero was going to be the movie star but ended up being that’s the brother. When said movie star ends up at her farm due to her bff’s suggestion for doing community work, it’s a long but fun road. The hero is moody, grumpy, doesn’t say a lot but his actions may also be not often but true to his feelings I can’t deny these two’s chemistry. His past is a little twisted but in all the heroine truly falls for him without even being touched yet. Oh did I mention that this is a SUPER SLOW BURN? Yeah, prepare, I mean after 80% type of burn, the anticipation is killer too.

After reading to the end, I honestly wanted to love the hero more and more but just was not a fit for me for a couple of reasons and if you’re a mood reader like me you’ll understand that it just…WAS NOT EXCUSABLE (I think to me I just needed little more explanation from the hero is all) it was also maybe a little of the story, there was a MYSTERY and ACTION factor to it but it did not go anywhere if you know what I mean. But over all I would still highly recommend this book and author because my rating is based on personal preferences not a over-all…this could be a gold for you! SINGLE POV!

Not my first read by the author but she is very new to me, this is only the 2nd book I’ve read by her and boy did I fall in love with this one as much as I did with Book #1! There is something said about the hero and heroine having their own issues that are still lingering when they get together and the chemistry explodes. Also the title makes sense pretty fast and then you realize why and you get excited that it does make sense but also sad for the hero in the same time. This isn’t a typical relationship between hero and heroine. The hero alone has his own share of frailly drama and bullshit along with a personal defect he is dealing with. It honestly isn’t but that is how he sees himself. The heroine isn’t usual as well, she has her own share of drama and daemons except hers is displayed for the world every day. You wouldn’t think that these two would be a pair but broken people heal other broken people. Their chemistry is off the charts, there is humor in this and it will make you chuckle and kind of have angst for the heroine to finally figure it out. ALSO he calls her Bee so there is that! If you could ever FEEL the words this will be that book!

BUT secrets are not meant to be kept. And these secrets are not as expected and even more painful when you get to it all. It’s heartbreaking and bittersweet, I cried multiple times in this and my heart was affected in all aspects! GAH! This book truly moved me, from the characters, the story, the good and bad…truly a addicting book to dive into! P.S. start with Book #1 you will equally love it!

Not my first read by the author, she is still a little NEW to me so I am getting used to the style. This is most def a DARK ROMANCE with twists. Also this is a cliffy in which I did not pay attention or bother to research so it was a surprise cliffy to me. I don’t usually mind them but they are not my favorite and I should have known since this author is known for them.

Before I get into the the rest I want to call out the heroine and say that it took me a while to get used to her. She is 20 and immature at that age on certain scenes and action, I was hoping for a more stronger heroine in a sense of acting older than her age but it did work out in it’s own. Just had a hard time feeling her fully. She is very verbal, foul mouth and acts tough that might have played a part that annoyed me about her.

To me this was a dark romance with a twist and the twist being that it could very well be a not dark romance just a age-gap steamy romance, but the circumstances made it dark. You wouldn’t put a construction worker as a dark hero but boy was he dark. His past was equally exciting as hurtful. I really don’t want to give out too much but will say key words like ‘kink & bdsm fire hot sex’ that’s all about that. There is a lot to this and I can’t wait to read the rest and hope they get a happy ending a delicious romantic sexy ending that is because these two together are CHEMISTRY OVERLOAD loved loved loved them together! It’s got danger, angst, spice and realness to it, again can’t wait to read more of these two!
