You will get a strong doze of Jessica in this one and I pray that she “accidentally” gets killed off! Anyways, thus far (and since this is book 3 and I hope no one is reading in the middle of a full length 5 book series) we all know that the heroine Randi is the VP of the USA with a President who is a big DICK! Trey the hero is cornered by his parents specifically his mother to do something that he wouldn’t normally agree to but to keep Randi safe he had no choice. His relationship with Jessica who in the beginning really seemed like a ‘woman power’ type of person until Trey’s mother got her claws in her, is a rather preternatural relationship! I didn’t like the “triangle” aspect of it in the beginning, it turned me off only because that is my taste or NOT my taste to be exact. I put a lot of emotion and feeling into reading, and it’s not so much as put but that’s how I read, will a full heart and concentration to the story and characters. Blessing & a Curse!
That also said, it really in this one you can see how hard it really is to keep a relationship when you’re the VP and the other is sworn and paid to protect you. The hurdles they go through are real and dangerous, sweet, romantic, fast, mysterious…it has it all. It’s deep political romance but with lot’s of twists and turns. Randi is complex character that Trey keeps at bay, they really are perfectly perfect together. Aside from the beginning where I wanted Jessica killed off, I really enjoyed the remainder. Now let’s talk about the ending: everything from 65% and on was intense, from the lies, secrets, danger constant danger, Randi holds her ground. Like I said these two are perfect for one another and the ending had me SHOOCKED!!!!!! Just shoocked!

Not my first read by the author, not only is she one of my top 5 favorites but also the 2nd read ever many moons ago when I started reading and reading romance! That said I have read almost every single book she has put out and this was a beautiful surprise because one: i love anything by Jodi but also because I’ve been having streaks of ‘not my cup of tea’ books and this is a life saver! So here we go…and what a start, hello arrogance at it’s finest!
The best part to this was the first meeting of Ty & Lainey PERFECT meet, I am so glad that a woman made him feel off kilter, the man-whore Ty being seduced by a woman who didn’t even say a word to him or pay him much attention! And then it turned a little touch and go for me, while I enjoy a man chasing a woman he can’t have or that sizzling attraction between the hero and heroine, this was a lot of “other” conquers if you know what I mean and you only get glimpses of the heroine which is not much besides a few things that I didn’t really like..there I say it but this is a HIS POV only and so I am only going off of what we got from the heroine and I’m only 27% in. It was just a little slow and repeat for me for a while actually. I really hope it picks up and we get more of WHO the heroine is because so far, I just don’t know what to think of her. Alright we are at around 50% and I wish I could say that it got better for me, but sadly it did not. The issue I had until now is that 1. we don’t get much about the heroine but a few things 2. his pov only 3. the hero fucking (excuse my language) but I got really fed up and irritated with the hero fucking everything possible – there just sin’t an easier way to say this 4. the hero want’s her but she doesn’t until she does. 5. we wont get a glipse of even a little more of the heroine until 42%
All that said already, I am not even finished and I must say now that the ‘romance’ and them kind of together is happening, I am too turned off…I don’t know how to enjoy them together. Really disappointed but I am always truthful on my review’s and that’s what you’re getting. My point of view and thoughts! Here is something that really pissed me off:

I just had a really had time connecting with either one of them after this, because Lainey is so indecisive and confusing because we don’t now her well and the angst in this, for me, is overbearing. It was fun in the beginning but then it got old for me and started to get irritating, so you can imagine how my reading went with that type of feeling. I am not a fan of indecisiveness of either character to a breaking point along with the hero fucking other woman in details this many times. I won’t be sorry for what I do not find romantic or enjoy reading, but I guess we will see. I will end this once I am done reading. I’ve got about 40% left. p.s. I also can’t look past this one: (Sorry but I do not find that romantic and it throws me off, if anything just pisses me off to think of all the conquests that he has had)
Last night I fucked a girl I could easily never see again. I hate that she was in my bed. At least, I hate it now. But if anything, it proved categorically to me that I really wasn’t done with Lainey. Not by a long shot. And she so isn’t done with me.

Towards the ending, TY really get’s swoony, like the type I wish he was at the beginning, wish I didn’t have to fight my feelings for time this late in the game, because when he wants he can be so dreamy, funny and swoony. Ty was a complex character but I enjoyed him more than anything, smart, successful, a man-whore yes but deep down you’ll understand why. Nothing like that can be said about the heroine, maybe the not having her POV played a huge factor but I did jot like her, bits and pieces ans thats it. And then I got thowards the very end and, wow (that’s not a good wow) this messed me up in all the ways of reading romance and not in a good way. I’m speechless at the fact that this came from Jodi Ellen Malpas. Unfortunately did dropped to a 3.5 for me because wow, that was not cool, the explanation, the way the heroine was all about it, the way the hero is…wow just wow. THE END!

Just so we are clear, I have read every single book of Aurora and re-read them plenty of times to know them like the back of my hand. So she is a #oneclick INSTA-READ author for me. This is something NEW and I am always excited for that from Aurora. New in a sense that it’s not an ‘insta love’ but a very intense amazing new type of Aurora’s writing.
Little about the characters: Dakota the heroine who is an amazing woman that went through a rough patch, being let down and disappointed by the one mans eh thought was the future. When she moves in with her brother Jamie WHO by the way IS FREAKING AMAZING I fell in love with him right away too. So here she is, new everything and agreed to go on a blind date even though she knows she isn’t ready but what the heck, why not. Braxton is our hero who is not only alpha, handsome, sexy, gravely voice, and in charge but a man who see’s what he wants and goes for it. This is a from HER POV only and the bits and pieces you get of the hero you will LOVE.
The way these two met might have been unconventional, but their connection very real and high. They both have to fight their own battles but can’t seem to keep away from one another. It’s just, their banter, the sizzling love, Brax might be a man of very few words but they are powerful, this story will suck you in, and the twist…I did not expect that. A very DARK and SEXY feel of this story. I can’t wait for more and wish there was more haha, hoping Jamie’s story comes very soon!!!!! I definitely need more like this writing from Aurora!

Not my first read by the author, I have read actually a lot of the author’s books & this one caught my eye, the blurb first then the cover. This author has amazing covers, I will give her that. That said, she also is a 50/50 hit for me, meaning I’ve read some I was not able to connect with and the other’s were obviously amazing.
Heather get’s dumped at the worst time ever. She goes into a frenzy on her birthday out with her friends and they declare she attend the wedding alone, because female empowerment and screw society rules. But, Heather is not ready for that statement, she needs to go with someone….
Archer Powell, a self-centered, hot and I know it, know-it-all who works at the same place as her…but rumors circling is that he would never be repeating a office-romance again. But then again, she has barely spoken to the man so no way would he ever be a candidate. Archer is a man that gets what he wants, and deep down has a big heart.
Now, I enjoyed the story I did but again, somehow the hero rubbed me the wrong way. He wasn’t romantic alpha but more just pushy type. I didn’t get a vibe from him, and I am so sad to say because I’ve read this author’s other books and loved the hero’s. Could just be me but that’s how he came off to me. That said, because of him mainly is why my rating. It is a office-romance and a fun one at that, the heroine is strong and sassy and I still enjoyed it all. And I will keep reading because I know I’ll get a great hero vibe again from her.

I would like to say at this junction that KYLE needs to be killed off, pushed, ran over, eaten by sharks…any of those above. Sneaky, slimy little shits!
Randi our heroine keeps her head held high, after all she came this far, but she is not out of the woods yet, the worst has only become, from glares to talks behind back and much more. This book will test our heroine in the best ways possible…all while having to fight her own will and heart for Trey. It’s heart breaking and empowering this whole book, but I was reading fast trying to get to…well I don’t know not an end but somewhere to know what’s going to happen, when and who…the tight leash Randi is being held in all this…is EXPLOSIVE…there is only a woman can take so much! It’s a slow burn of all slow burns…painfully you will feel each with her. But this girl, this woman who has faught her whole life has some fight still left in her…Kyle she is coming for you.
This is a thriller I tell you, political romance never usually kept me interested until this series. The plot, the words, the characters, danger, suspense and romance…it’s a perfect combo. I can’t say too much because ti will give out the whole book but I will say that there is a lot that’s going to happen and these same two people who once found each other, have to try and either find each other again or LIVE WITH letting one another go for the sake of a loved one. This has a lot of parts to it, it starts off with one way then turns into something sexy and beautiful…then it jumps a little ahead and then it’s a ride you won’t want to get off of! That should do it, at least if anything, she can’t say she didn’t try.
As I am always honest in my review’s I won’t lie and say that I was actually already expecting what will happen because I have read every single book by Vi and kind of felt familiar, as in her words and writing style. But boy was I jolted to reality when this took a turn for the best. What I enjoyed most is the way the hero and heroine were together, not your average boy and girl just felt…that’s it I FELT THEM if that makes sense. Their chemistry was insane and I will say this that this does not disappoint in the SEXY SCENES department, or DIRTY TALK!!! They go really well together and I know I will forever remember this book. Watch out for the few twists, have tissue ready because you’ll most definitely need it. Another AMAZING Standalone by Vi!!

Okay, I know I’ve said it before but I LOVE THIS ONE! It’s a perfect enemy-to-lovers romance!! Rochelle and Rafael are both so strong with a lot of history between them. A lot of sizzling history that is. Rochelle is very VERY headstrong and outspoken, and won’t repeat her mistake again and be hurt. While Rafa carries so much on his shoulder and is equally stubborn. This story is not for the faint of the heart because *sigh*
I will say that at the beginning it was a little hard to connect with Rochelle but here is the secret, to me Rafa tames her and somehow him being him, makes Rochelle even more better. She is still very tough, strong and outspoken but Rafa just brings out so much more in her. That said this is definitely one of my favorites of Nichole’s books!

Not my first read by author and I am very honored to have received this ARC very early!! I can’t wait to see more in this series because after this one I AM NOW HOOKED!! Also little about the author from how I perceive her: her books are different, in a REAL sense, so it’s not your typical romance and it’s always real to a point you forget your reading. So, this is a political-real-life-romance, enemy-to-lovers, angsty, suspenseful, mysterious, action packed, funny and sweet at times also. Slow burn for sure, but with some teasing! When hero and heroine meet it’s under not so good circumstances. What’s worse is that Randi was shocked by the man’s size and beautiful eyes, until the harsh words that come out of his mouth. How do you change someone perception of yourself when it’s a lie to yourself too.
Trey Benson is part of Randi’s security detail, and the man is a grumpy one. Sexy, but grumpy! Considering he got himself and his team in the situation they are in in the first place. I think it’s funny that he already made up him mind about Randi, but he has NO IDEA!! Trey and Randi are more intertwined than they know, small world if you will. Beware and that’s saying it light of K Y L E! Oh my gosh, did I want to stab him then suffocate him with his own pillow a few times! *grrrr* This is a VERY REAL LIKE political life, and boy did the author do some good research which ever way!!
Two people whoa re polar opposite, lies, wrongs, deception and real life. It’s when Trey realizes a little who Randi really is, every day it’s something new and he can’t believe his eyes because, not a minute ago she was this polished, clean beautiful and shark woman in a world of powerful men. This is a DON’T JUDGE A BOOK BY IT’S COVER through and through. I really really flipping fell in love with Randi, her past, her upbringings, her push through life…it’s admirable and not believable at times but in here you will understand that, really not everyone is as they seem. But throughout all this, she stays true to HERSELF even if the rest of the world sees her as this perfect Political Barbie!
While these two try and figure out WHO THEY ARE to themselves, while living this life of polar opposite yet so very much alike…it’s a on the edge of the seat, glued to your book type of story. As much as the political world is arrogant, there is a way to navigate, the question is will Randi trust her new found friend Trey to help her with that, and will Randi put himself back out there for someone he essentially had pegged already?!

Not my first read by author, and I have read book 1 HARD PLACE! That said I need to express how really sad I was when I read the blurb and realized that this could be a LOVE TRIANGLE which is one of my triggers! *tear* But do read Book 1 before diving into this one!
So, the beginning of Book 2 does not continue where it leaves from in Book 1. You get the backstory of Michael and Harper (and it’s really sweet and good GAH!) God this hurts to read because my heart is torn between Michael and Alex! And of course they are very much so intertwined, it’s all the lies, secrets and angst and a little suspense that you get from here on out!
I can’t really reveal too much because the book contains a lot of everything I say will give it out, but will say that it hurt me reading it because I am a hopeless romantic a one woman type of romantic so it was hard for me to distinguish one man from the other. Can’t have both but then again whoever said that was true? Harper has a hard time during all this, being a single mother and wanting to do what’s best for everyone…and sometimes leaving yourself out too. I gotta say that I was not expecting the ending, totally wasn’t even ready for it, I myself was torn.

What a start, emotions right off the bat! While Genevive is having one hell of a day, she ends up meeting a stranger that helps her out in many ways. After all, why wouldn’t she trust a stranger right! Not knowing her future, Genevive jumps with both feet into the new life. Hahaha all I can say is to saddle up for a ride because just when you think you have it figured out, you wont and WHEN you finally do you’ll be laughing but also impressed!
It’s a fun game of cat and mouse except you’ll questions who the cat and the mouse is for a little…I’ll tell you right now that Genevive is who she is but she is also very smart, sassy AF and strong. *profanity is a norm in her vocab just sayin’ I liked the due because Machlin is the very ALPHA male, big, strong, sexy..successful..handsome…but then there is this little thing Gen that only makes him work harder AT HER because she fights back. It’s a sexy sizzle of foreplay! I won’t even need to tell you the sexy scenes….*fanning myself*
But, like all things strong…when push comes to shove will Genn be able to over-come what she learned about Mac. Will they be able to make it work after-all? There is a huge BOMB at the end of course for Book 2 to come!!

Not my first read by author and will probably never be the last hehe. I have loved Tia’s books for a while now and she quickly became a top favorite author of mine! I may or may not have screamed when I got the ARC, gah! I love anything by Tia so don’t hold it against me!! What a start, jumps right in the line of duty so to speak. My heart was racing.
When Raquel “Rocky” decided what to do with her life after grad-school, she hopped right on the same train as her sister. Work wise that is. Her first day not only does her new boss she was warned of insult her but also is mean. They called him THE DEVIL and to her recollection that suits him just fine. Few days into work and they managed to spew off hate at each other, ignoring the sign that says otherwise. The chemistry between Patton and Raquel is undeniable, even the co-workers notice. One company picnic changes it all!
Characters Raquel: She is so strong, sensitive, upfront and loving. Beside the fact of being gorgeous. Will do anything for her sister. When I say STRONG i mean STRONG, even after losing her parents. Patton: Sexy, smart, handsome, caring the weight of the world on his shoulders, rugged, mean…but a heart of gold! Former Military, can’t get over what happened therefore pushes himself on to helping his brothers.
This was a sexy, addictive, action-packed, fun and enjoyable story! Little bit of fun, lot’s of enemy-to-lovers and SIZZLING! Rocky and Patton are the perfect couple, their chemistry is off the charts. The story falls in line and as always Tia’s writing needs no words but amazing! I will have to say that at one point I was not too sure about Rocky’s sister BUT see it through because it will make full sense at the end. And what a beautiful HEA! *swoon* Watch out ladies PATTON is the new Devil!

Not my first read form the author, she happens to be ONE OF MY FAVORITE authors! So I am very familiar with her writing style and the fact this is a start to a new SERIES gah, gold!!
Boy does this book start off with a bang! Struggle on top of struggle, you will feel all the feels of this single mom of two twin-daughters. Harper is a 25 year old beautiful, smart and happy personality single mom. Who happens to be struggling in many ways that is, when she gets offered a promotion in sorts, she really doesn’t have a choice and jumps at the chance to get a little ahead in life. She has lost so much and one night many moons ago wasn’t the right idea but the outcome is as beautiful. Little did she know though, the prick from the other night who stole her parking spot at the new school…is her new boss! BOOM!
Alex is a cocky, successful handsome man. He is well known for his worth ethic, rather enjoys it along with his string of non-string attachments if you will. But behind closed doors he is just a man who was mistreated in his childhood, who wasn’t shown love but brutality of the hard life at such a young age. He himself is sick of the long working nights, no one to really come home to and the nameless meaningless sex. When he finally get’s a spark from a woman, he can never really have her. SO MUCH IN BETWEEN!!
Alex loves Harper’s smile because it lights up the room and Harper can’t not look at the cocky but so sad boss of hers who wears the shit out of a suit! *sweating* When one night proves to be almost fate, this is where you fall in love with Alex *swoon swoon swoon* aside from all, he really does have a beautiful heart and mid-way you’ll see why! It shocked the hell out of Harper almost missing a beat to the lie. Since then things seem to smooth out enough to where Harper is talking to Alex again and not just work related. It’s all great until you REALLY can’t deny fate. It’s just so beautiful, two broken people in their own way to come together and GAH just swoony and beautiful! YES THAT’S A WORD, GO WITH IT! B U T not all lies even good intention ones are without fault, this is heartbreaking one too!! #havetissues
This enemy-to-lovers office romance is PERFECT. A great start to a new series and a MUST READ! You’ll get both POV’s, perfect hero and heroine, side characters and adorable little twin girls. It feels so real when you’re reading it, like it’s happening there so you know I don’t need to say much more about Emily’s writing style, it’s perfection!
