Not my first read by the author and not the last, I have read all of her books and I probably will read anything the puts out. I love her Hero all about his Heroine vibe in any genre! This prequel is EVERYTHING! I have read Little Lies and this was the perfect before and backstory to the amazing freaking love these two characters share. I loved everything about it, from the historical aspect to the fights, the sorcery and then the chemistry between mates! Vampire meets his little match!
I am really happy to see the pre, because reading little lies I always wondered so this was perfect. You get the back story, the action, the killing, the feeding, the heat, romance and steamy scenes. The chemistry in this was even more explosive than Little Lies and that one was heated. All makes sense now.

Not my first time reading this author and I do like her writing style and her DARK. This though, this was a dark of the color dark and then add about 100 x’s more. And then add a few more! I read and like dark romances but this was very twisted, fucked up but also beautiful in it’s own ways.
The darkness in this will break you, and the little hope will make you shed tears.
That is the best way I can describe this book. This is on the line of dark and darker, I can’t explain it without feeling every emotion while reading this, from curious to turned on to in fear and sad. My mind was at war with my libido during this whole book and it brought out all the feelings at the same time…I wasn’t even sure about the surrounding while reading just captivated in the moment. Unfortunately the more I read the more my mind won over, and I think this hero or rather anti-hero was a bit too much in my eyes. The lines were blurred to begin with but he was so far away that I finally realized that liking the kinds of this anti-hero isn’t something for me. I love dark, alpha, dominant, possessive but this one just went beyond that, the punishments, his thoughts, the other woman…made me angry the more I read. It wasn’t so much the situations which may be the fucked up thing about me here but more of the I was missing the actual Romance, yes even in this darkness I wanted that little hope and feeling…I never got it. What I also did not get which I was kind of waiting for to justify it all, was the romance. I know people will say well this is a dark romance but where is the romance part? This review went from 5 stars to 4.5 down to 3.5 and on the verge of it being a final 3 star which makes me sad because I think had I had that romance and affection between the H & H it would have been okay for me, not to mention the fact that the heroine barely speaks at all. I know there was a warning on this book but just not for me.
p.s. you do get a little of that romance at the very end, but for me it was too late. Just in case you’re reading my review and wonder if there was any at all at least. To each it’s own, had I had that sooner and throughout this would be a different review. Best of luck to the book.

Not my first read by the author, she is still a little NEW to me so I am getting used to the style. This is most def a DARK ROMANCE with twists. Also this is a cliffy in which I did not pay attention or bother to research so it was a surprise cliffy to me. I don’t usually mind them but they are not my favorite and I should have known since this author is known for them.
Before I get into the the rest I want to call out the heroine and say that it took me a while to get used to her. She is 20 and immature at that age on certain scenes and action, I was hoping for a more stronger heroine in a sense of acting older than her age but it did work out in it’s own. Just had a hard time feeling her fully. She is very verbal, foul mouth and acts tough that might have played a part that annoyed me about her.
To me this was a dark romance with a twist and the twist being that it could very well be a not dark romance just a age-gap steamy romance, but the circumstances made it dark. You wouldn’t put a construction worker as a dark hero but boy was he dark. His past was equally exciting as hurtful. I really don’t want to give out too much but will say key words like ‘kink & bdsm fire hot sex’ that’s all about that. There is a lot to this and I can’t wait to read the rest and hope they get a happy ending a delicious romantic sexy ending that is because these two together are CHEMISTRY OVERLOAD loved loved loved them together! It’s got danger, angst, spice and realness to it, again can’t wait to read more of these two!

This is not a pretty world, but Callum will do everything in his power to MAKE IT that way for his Venus. Aliana has lived a life of fortune yes but at the highest cost, she isn’t self centered, cold hearted or brutal like her father but she does know how to stand her ground and fake it till you make it. NOT my first read by the author and I have read all of Amy’s books and am a HUGE HUGE fan! She is one of my perfect safe author’s that I would read anything from! Her writing is unique and captures the beauty from the pages!
Let’s get started with this beauty, first off I want to say that I couldn’t have more excited to get a new series from Amy but one of my favorite combo’s too! Trent & Eden were addictive…from page one! There was something so beautiful in all the broken that I couldn’t stop reading.
Story: Eden is a woman just trying to help her father keep his dream in hence hers as well. After her sister’s betrayal she will do anything to keep her life going, even if it means throwing herself into the lions den. That being Trent’s nightclub, the minute he walks in and spots her, he KNOWS she not only doesn’t belong there but looks like a dream. A bright dream he doesn’t deserve. After a little banter and the heroine showing her backbone, the hero is surprised but also intrigued. After all, she is something he wouldn’t even dream of trying to have. The heroine starts working at Trent’s club for the extra money, little did they both know fate had a big hand in this in all the ways. They may look different and have grown up differently, one light one dark…their souls were meant to be.
This story includes angst, passion, love, danger, hurt, laughter and HEART! I was ready so fast I needed to slow myself down. I loved everything about each character but especially Trent the SINGLE-DAD who would give anything to protect the ones he loves. His adorable little son, his brothers and the deep passionate love he has for Eden. It’s so beautiful, painful, sweet, romantic, sexy, dangerous…everything you need! I can not wait for more! I have a feeling this whole series will become my TOP 2021 MUST READs easily!

This author is fairly still new to me but I have read Book 1 in this duet & #BOOKDRUNK is all I can say right now! I started it late at night and stayed up until 130am to finish. #sigh For obvious reasons since this is duet I would recommend reading Book #1 first!
This really jumped right into where it left off, and everything after felt like I was flowing on a cloud watching this play out. This is a dark romance but when I say dark I mean a sensual sexy style, the first one included a lot of action but this was all about Elijah & Charlotte and I FELT every single page. Not wanting to ruin too much and not make much sense because this is a 2nd book to the first…THIS was mystifying, romantic, dirty, page-turned, gripping and heartbreaking. The sacrifice Charlotte made, the length Elijah was willing to go to protect her, mindlessly creating a barrier around her…everything made sense in the end and nothing was as expected.
p.s. this ended worse than a cliffhanger, so beware: emotions will play part, don’t throw your kindle! Sad and Emotional HEA but will forever stay with me! #trulove

NEW to me author but I have had a few of her books in my TBR for a while, this one I saw on a sign up and just had a feeling, and I AM SO GLAD I DID! Gosh, I was up until almost 1am finishing this. I never wanted it to end. I also did not know this had a PARANORMAL feel to it as well, and I was happily shocked how much I loved it in every aspect.
My View: I don’t even know where to begin because I rather not spoil anything because in the end the beginning will make so much sense. This had all the dark and suspense feels, the alpha hero, the young heroine that was lost…in reality and her mind. She does not have any family and a best friend that is both a friend and foe. She is a artist with a unique eye and there is a reason behind it. She can’t seem to fall asleep without pills and when she does, she has horrific nightmares but also arousing ones. That’s all I am going to say about that, because nothing is as it seems and when you think you maybe have it figured out, you don’t! The paranormal in this really took me by surprise at how much I liked it. Everything was a suspense, mystery, unknown yet I couldn’t take my eye off of the pages. I connected with everything this book is. THE HERO, I want to talk about him only a little because well we don’t want to give out to much. He is the tall, dark and handsome AND LOYAL man that you want. A anti-hero if you will but with reason, he would never hurt his PRETTY GIRL. There are events happening in this book that even though I do not have triggers regarding this but it’s gets pretty gruesome in a beautiful way if that makes sense. Really wish this was a trilogy, I’d be happy with that for sure but I can’t wait to read more from this author.

She is living a life she thinks is normal, when nothing is as it seems. She doesn’t have a lot, no family, n real friends, but she was left something at least, from her late uncle who she has never met but she is thankful for, to be able to live out her dream as a artist. The hero is everything you want from this style of book, dark, mysterious, all about the heroine, smart, mighty and handsome. Their dates are the sweetest and the SLOW BURN in a real burn! If you want to hang onto every page and not know what’s coming or know what anything is, mixed with beautiful pain, love and sexy?! This is for you, I would ever so highly recommend this book!

NEW-ish author to me. I have read one other book by this author and wasn’t too much of a fan as in just wasn’t my style but I also don’t judge author’s by one book. So, I really liked the cover in this, I enjoy dark romance and mafia romance especially so I wanted to give the author another shot. Unfortunately this was not for me, it’s more the author’s style and some to do with the tone of the story.
To me mafia romance need to be really researched and done right. That’s just my personal preferences, otherwise it becomes a little either ridiculous or too much for me. This was not up my alley when it comes to the style of mafia romance, it’s not particularly a bad thing, I am sure a lot of people do enjoy this style….I don’t even know how to explain it, basically it, to me sounds like the story is just told, there wasn’t any particular thing keeping me there, like someone was just telling me a story. Another problem I had with this and with mafia romances (which most are and I get it I do) but I like the more dedicated mafia hero’s or rather antihero in these, if you’re not sleeping with the heroine I don’t want to see you sleep with other useless woman characters, it’s a huge turn off. That’s all I am going to say on that because I could go on for days on how much that a turn off is. So I do appreciate getting another chance to try the author and wish the author the best.

NEW to me author and books. This is going to be a lengthy REVIEW I am just putting this out there from the start. I have watched the movie and this is my first time reading the book, fair warning I have read many review’s about the original language books and was kind of hoping the English version would pump it up a little. Little background so I am foreign myself and speak 6 languages and I have read in many different languages when it comes to romance, this has the potential for romance but it’s more a European version of a book JUST put together. I can’t say that I speak the language of the author so maybe in the natives language the book itself is more enriched, but I will also say that I did not enjoy the movie. Yes the actor was dark and sexy, and the heroine beautiful but I always base my opinions based on the book, hence why I am here reviewing the book. I am hugely disappointed in the translation portion of this story/book…I mean HUGELY disappointed! To be honest the fact that this was a big market movie that shook the nation a little, I was expecting perfection in the English version, what I got it the knock of version, and I don’t say that to be mean just realistic, when reading it was really hard to keep focused, to keep engaged and it actually made it worse for me the more I read. To be fair this does contain a huge huge TRIGGER for me, the hero/heroine being with other people so that didn’t help either.
We all know the actual story because I am certain a lot of people have seen the movie, and yes though the movie was very sexual, the book did contain it as well just not very well. Here is why: the hero comes off as a douche-waffle in the book, there are scenes where he is the weak one, scenes where he is the slimy one, scenes where he is the heartless one and scenes where he is the sweet one. It did not flow well for me therefore all I remembered from the book is how uncoordinated the hero came off. We all loved Massimo the actor but I for one was an ever more lesser fan of Massimo in the book.

I want to very much touch base about the heroine in the book. Having watched the movie, wow what a difference and I mean the heroine in the movie is 10 times better than the actual heroine in the book. I want to emphasize on the fact that this heroine has a heart condition, I didn’t get what kind until they kept giving her meds to go under her tongue (Nitroglycerin) is a medicine used to treat Angina (a symptom of coronary artery disease) to which yes what the heroine was feeling was correct BUT taking alcohol in which the heroine DOES A LOT and I mean A LOT in the story, can cause harm. That said, I really wish the author gave us more about her condition in the beginning, to me it just seemed made up like, ‘oh she ha s a heart problem’ like what, who where and when. Maybe that’s just the American way of me by living here too long but I would like to know that type of things when reading. I could not stand the heroine through out the whole book she was fake to me, blotchy, unstable, weak, just plain weird. The things she did, thought and went through in her mind, I would never want to read about nor meet a person like that. That to me was unstable and unattractive in a heroine.
Aside the fact that I HATED that the hero did things with other woman, okay yes this is a dark mafia style romance so I can kind of get it, not for me but I get it. Massimo kept leaving Laura through out the book, then they would fight, then Laura would smack Massimo SO MUCH it made me angry, at one point in the scene Massimo begged or asked her to hit him, it was not attractive because it just came off at a weird time. Every scene the heroine seems to retaliate, but then it would turn around and they were sweet one each other. The time line was not straight for me, I felt like being the little ball in a ping pong game, transitions I can’t even remember because I was so focus on it being EVERYWHERE. That’s what I remember from this I WAS EVERYWHERE, and not just in the story line but the power struggle as well, between Don Massimo and Laura.

I was truly disappointed because again watching a Movie and reading to me are two different lives, and this was for sure, Unfortunately both for me were in the NO GO ZONE. I really was holding out hope for the book and understand that this is originally made and published in the author’s native language, that said, I have also read many books in different languages, some loved some did not, this to me was not well translated, I couldn’t get hooked or stay hooked and some of the words threw me off as well as some sentences.
The following are two scenes that both REVOLTED me:

Not my first read by the ladies, but this is part of my first PNR soo I have been waiting for this book, I really really got into the first book and can’t wait to dive in and get my answers! I will say off the bat that this is definitely more PNR, so Book 1 to me was phenomenal to ME someone who has never read PNR before…and well this book really dives into the PNR and fantasy meaning of it. I want to emphasize that I have never truly read a PNR romance, and this is all new to me…just because it took me a little to get into, I unfortunately do see that even with the power couple ladies, I don’t think PNR in general is for me in a whole bunch. THAT said, I can’t deny that these ladies really out-did themselves with this book…it’s captivating, the words keep you hooked, the characters are exceptional.
Aside from the God and Daemon world, I couldn’t get enough of Professor Maximus Kane and Kara Valari…his perfect little DEAMON! *shivers* the family dynamics in this was like watching a game of tennis, my head was doing back forth back forth and I was hooked! What really captivated me was the emotion and intensity, truly loved THE WORDS because these two author’s really perfected the combo-writing! Very glad I gave this my all!

Damien Priest was something out of this world! This entire story captivated me from page one. Maria really brought the BANG! Beware of the twist and turns in this one, every time I think ahaa I got it, I get side swiped in the best ways possible. I really love the EMOTION in this, everything was with whole heart…I am tongue tied on how much I loved it all! The details, the secrets, the expressions…characters, side characters…you learn so much more here and it really gives YOU ALL! Action packed is what I safely say about this, at each corner. While I was new to Maria a while ago, her books really are full of LOVE and written so. This one Maria took it out of the park, just plain WOW!!!

Not my first read by the author and I have read all the previous series books! This one was a 50/50 to as really strong heroine usually are, they aren’t my absolute favorite type. So personal preference. I think it was just a mix of the hero being very very controlling and takes a while to understand and the heroine being very strong yet vulnerable and I don’t know it didn’t mix well for me. It is the darkest I’ve read from this author and touches base on some touchy subjects, personally it’s a very touchy to me, yet it was beautiful to read and watch.
even though I have mixed feeling on this one, the author’s words are what captivates you, the form and the story line. It grips you and keeps you hold. Am so glad to have had the chance to continue reading in this beautiful series.

Not my first read by the author and I have read plenty where I am familiar with her writing. That said this is Book #5 in a 5 book series, yes these books follow the same Hero and Heroine so I would not recommend skipping.
WOW! Talk about being on the edge the whole time. This is high on suspense and action but it does not lack the romance. This is the final conclusion to the 5 book series that follows the same hero and heroine. Obvious reasons I would not suggest reading out of order. I am debating if I want to give a lot out but I honestly don’t want to because this is much needed after the 4 books. Nothing is what it seems, on the edge scenes, mystery, action, little dark vibes, pretty much had it all. The HEA will have you swooning, crying and feelings ALL the feels. Highly recommend this whole series!
